I don't necessarily prefer cold weather to warm weather, but I'm glad we have discernible seasons here in the Netherlands. The ideal temperature for me is anything between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius (50-68 degrees Fahrenheit). I like cold, snowy winters. A lot of people complain when temperatures drop even below 15 degrees Celsius, it's always seemed so bizarre to me, because it really isn't that much of an inconvenience.

Also, like others have said above, I, too, think summer and hot weather are overrated. I can't get much of anything done when temperatures are above 25 degrees (77 deg F), all I do is sweat and lie on my bed. Can barely lift a finger!

Also, people tend to have a disproportionate dislike of rain. One day, it was raining a little bit more than drizzle, you could clearly feel the drops, but the sky wasn't all too grey with clouds, and it was actually quite pleasant to walk in. Yet, on the radio, at work, everywhere, people were complaining about it. Come on! It's just water, it won't hurt you, it'll just make you a little bit wet! And the plants need it and crave it.

I prefer spring and autumn over the summer months. I can't stand hot temperatures and extremely bright sunlight. The winter bothers me less than the days when the temperature surpasses 30° C / 86 F. Spring weather is the optimal weather for me, not too hot to wear a jacket but not too cold either.

I agree with this. I prefer loose sweaters over T-shirts, and I like to wear a jacket in order to carry all my things with me (Kindle, cellphone, headphones, camera, tissues, some treats in case I run into stray cats, stuff like that). A temperature around 15° C is ideal for that reason.

I'd rather wear more clothing than less. I can always put more things on, but I can only take so much off in the summer. And I don't wear shorts out of principle, because I think I look ridiculous in them. So the summer months are quite bothersome for me.

I feel the same way about shorts. I was cool with them when I was in primary school, but I haven't worn shorts since I was twelve, except for gym class.

Even during hot summers, I'm fine just wearing jeans. But comfy t-shirts are a must! I don't think the past couple of summers in the Netherlands and Germany have been that intense, though.

"Cold weather" for me is anything below -20F, so no - I absolutely loathe cold weather. At 20F I could easily walk around outside wearing a T-shirt, and I would be comfortable.

I hate cold weather. I hate having to wear more clothes, and trying to get the layers right. Where I live we can still have very warm afternoons even when the nights are cold. So you have to bundle up in the morning but by noon you are sweating in those clothes and something has to come off. Then by dark it's getting cold again.

I feel restricted wearing heavy clothes and it can make me very irritable. Also going in and out a lot, which I do in my job, the constant temperature changes between inside and outside, and different buildings drive me crazy. At one place they will have the heat blasting, and I will feel like I'm suffocating. And then another place will be cool inside, so I never know what to expect.

The skin on my hands dries out and shreds in cold weather. I get lots of little cuts and it's very painful. Also my ears are very sensitive to the cold and they can hurt bad if there's just a slight chill in the air.

The sunlight bothers me more in the winter because of the angle of the sun. It's too low. It's like it's RIGHT THERE in my face every time I go outside. I like it better in the summer when the sun is high and the days are long.

I don't know how people can love the cold weather. The UK is in for a chill from Siberia and it's going to be at least -3 for the next few weeks. -3!! ! Aahhh!! ! Too cold for me. Siberia can keep their stupid cold weather - we don't want it. I want it to be mild, or it doesn't even have to be mild, it can just linger around 3 to 4 degrees if it wants. No lower than that, except for at night. I wish the gulf stream wrapped itself right round the UK, keeping all the nasty snowy weather well away.

I suppose snow is to follow this stupid Siberian wind. I don't understand why everybody loves the snow so much - who likes slipping over on icy pavements? Not me - I like to walk fast without being at risk of slipping!

Roll on March!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !!

I don't like being cold, but I like cold weather because I can wear lots of layers. I hate being hot and sticky and having to wear a t-shirt.

Basically, I am the Scrooge of summertime. Everyone else gets really excited about the sun coming out, but I have absolutely no idea why.

Me too. People who know me apparently have learned not to complain about the snow in my presence, because of the predictable reply from me: "Oh, but what's wrong with the snow? I love it! Want to go on a walk with me tonight? Gosh, look at those huge tufts; it's amazing!" etc... Nobody ever joins me on my walks, either. :? I'm sad this year since it's so mild and there's no snow yet. The only drawback to cold weather is the stupid itchy sweaters and thick socks.

I know a lot of people who love the snow, and get really excited when it snows. My family were scuttling about with excitement last year when it snowed, and when I sat there feeling miserable about the snow, people were like, ''lighten up, mate - it's snowing! Isn't it lovely???'' I've even seen people clapping their hands in merriment in the street when the snow was coming down thicker and faster.

Funnily enough, the only people I know who hate the snow are those who are very shy because they tell me that they're afraid of slipping over and embarrassing themselves. That's the same reason why I don't like the snow.

So don't give me the annoying impression that ''NTs hate snow and Aspies love it'' BS. Unless it's true for you in the USA, but over here it seems that more people like snow than don't. But, more people like the sun in the summer than don't. I love hot sunny days, spring and summer are my favourite two seasons, and I love winters to be mild and rainy.

I don't like snow because it eventually melts into a lot of water and it disrupts public transport, which I make heavy use of.

I'm most physically comfortable when the temperature is around 60 F ( 16 C) outdoors and 72 F (22 C) indoors. Aesthetically though I like a variety of weather. I can deal with bitter cold and heat and humidity as long as I can escape it by going indoors. Without AC summer can be a little intolerable in most parts of the US due to either extreme heat or high humidity. The Pacific coast is the only real exception with more tolerable summer temps.

In winter it's the lack of sunlight that gets to me more than the cold. If it's going to be cold and cloudy anyways it's nice to have some snow cover to make things at least appear brighter. I find those in-between seasons months the gloomiest, that time in the fall when the leaves are all dead but the first snowfall hasn't yet hit, or the early spring when the snow has melted but there's no sign of anything growing. In Michigan that would mainly be November and March, the most gloomy and depressing months of the year weatherwise.

Yeah I tend to prefer cold weather too. I never got why so many people think hot weather is "lovely". I think it's horrible.

People from the UK don't know what real "hot weather" is. You don't get the tropical airmasses in the summer like we do. Living on the east coast or in the south with no AC in summer will make you want to shoot yourself. It's like having your body enveloped in a warm wet washcloth for weeks on end.

Yep, when it's 30C we call it a "heatwave", but when I've been abroad it's been over 40C on a normal summer day - 30C was considered cool!

I live in the southern US, and it gets damn hot here, but I'd take the heat any day over cold weather.
