The socks I usually wear are the knee-high white socks. Don't care for the really short ones since they always feel as if they'll fall off my feet at any moment. However, any socks are better than no socks - really do not like being barefoot.

I knit socks, does that count? that way, I can make them the way I want them. But as regards socks in general, I can't stand the knee socks, with the built-in elastic tourniquet at the top. Therefore, I only wear the short sport socks, but I am a girl, so I can get away with that. Although if I were a boy, I might try to get away with that anyhow. I just loathe the binding elastic which leaves a dent in your leg, with mushrooming flesh above and below....

I've searched all my life for the perfect pair of socks and I've finally found them. They're organic cotton sports socks from H&M. They have barely detectable seams and the material is so soft. For the first time in my life, I've been able to put a pair of shoes on and my feet still feel great. Usually, I would take my shoes off again, sort the seams, put the shoes back on, take them off again... I had another challenge to find trainer socks as I only had 1 pair that I was happy with and I'm doing Zumba 3 times a week, wearing calf length pants, so definitely needed more. I managed to find some which are thicker than the usual trainer sock and very like my perfect H&M socks. When my feet are happy, I'm happy.

Let's talk about socks, baby
Let's talk about you and me
Let's talk about all the good things,
And the bad things
On our feet
Let's talk about socks

I want your socks
I want your love
I want your... socks

It's natural
It's chemical (let's do it)
It's logical
It's habitual (can we do it?)
It's sensual
But most of all
Socks is something that we should do
Socks is something for me and you

Socks is natural - socks is good
Socks is natural - socks is fun
Socks is best when it's... one on one

I agree that socks is best when it's one on one. I haven't had the ghost of the washing machine steal any in a while.

I wear men's black socks to go with my soul and my soles.

A bit update on an old thread: I've turned into a barefooter, at least when it's warm. :) I'm not sure what caused it but no more sandals with socks and my feet were quite warm enough. I thought I could never stand dust or bits on my feet but I got used to them as well. I still wear socks in fall and winter of course and still prefer wool socks. Although I like rayon or acrylic socks as well, since somehow my feet aren't as cold any more.

Ooh, I love stripes, too! But your socks look lime green on my monitor. :) I have a couple pairs of striped knee socks, too but never wear them. I should dig them out and wear them with a kilt or something to bother fashionable people. :D

i tend to knit my own socks. i can make sure they fit correctly and don't have uncomfortable seems. i do buy some socks but usually have to wear them inside out because of seems. i hate panty hose. some ribbed tights work for me. i like bright colors and patterns on my socks and tights. i have some plain black but i really like patterns and colors.

A sock thread? Okay!

A few days ago, at school, I was wearing unmatching socks. I didn't care, but a couple of girls started to laugh at me. One sock was much bigger that the other. I tried rolling down the bigger sock, but the interior of that sock was grey. Then a bunch of kids started laughing loudly. I am sure it disrupted learning. After that class, which was first period, I was so upset by what happened that I threw my socks in the garbage. :x (I was wearing sandals, so that was okay.)
