All soft drink gives me massive brain fog so I stay away from it. So I'm one of those water drinkers. However, I do like a good tea and self medicate with Milo.

I drink the Seagram's Lemon Lime Flavored seltzer water. Don't worry, it tastes better than Alka Seltzer! It doesn't have any calories and it's nice and crispy with tiny bubbles so I like it just fine.

I tend to prefer cola and orange soda over un-cola (Sprite, 7Up, ect).
Though I'm trying to cut back on drinking the stuff. It's bad for your teeth.

I've noticed, judging by the comments so far, that we either love soda or have an especially strong antipathy toward it.

I'm addicted to Coca-Cola, myself and would probably go into withdrawal if I had to do without it. I've gone to the corner store at 2:00 in the morning just to buy one if I ran out.

No mention of Big Red?

Oh well, I voted for Dr. Pepper as my favorite.

I was addicted to Mountain Dew for a few years. ADDICTED, no s**t. I gave up cigarettes without any real trouble, giving up Mountain Dew was torture.

I have wondered if people on the spectrum tend to have some kind of blood sugar issues. I've always been borderline hypoglycemic, not severely enough to need treatment, but severely enough to make me feel like s**t everyday if I don't eat more sugar than most people.

American Mountain Dew contains caffeine? How odd!

I primarily drink Coca-Cola™.

Out of interest, anyone else on here been diagnosed with allergies to soft drink additives. I'm allergic to a group of preservatives (benzoates and parabens) and was diagnosed a few years ago, after a long period of constant flu symptoms. These preservatives have also been linked to childhood hyperactivity - I was hyperactive until I was about 7yrs. I can drink Coke and Pepsi, but no diet drinks and I can't have our local favourite, Irn Bru, even with the sugar. I've only met two other people with this same allergy.

That's true for most people on the spectrum, but not me. I have never really tried it but I assume it would make me hyper because I get hyper easily.

Been fighting a Coke addiction for years. When they changed the formula I nearly had a permanent meltdown.

Caffiene calms me down too. I can wrangle my thoughts better with that little boost.

Caffeine helps to calm me down as well. I don't need more sugar, just more caffeine.

Pepsi, though I'd question whether there's any association between AS and soft drink preferences...

Same for me.

In the late 90s, I would joke that because Dr. Pepper would sometimes make me sleepy that I must have ADHD.

Oh, the irony.
