Quote:
I can't stand loud noises and sudden sounds. It causes me to hold my ears in pain.

I do have issues with loud noises, but loud sudden noise don't really hurt my ears as such. It just makes me jump, and I don't like that feeling, because when I jump from an unexpected noise, my arms move quickly and I flinch, and other people notice and they laugh at me. This is standing in the way of getting a job, because I don't want to work anywhere where loud sudden noises occur, like bells ringing.

Also the severe anxiety that goes along with autism. I am at risk from a heart attack because my blood pressure spikes under stress and not just a small amount. Last week it reached 175/96. Normal is 120/80. Also because of the severe anxiety, my heart rate is mainly above 100bpm and sometimes reaches above 140 bpm.

I have major issues with anxiety. It's a shame because my social skills aren't bad for an Aspie, but having all this anxiety stands in the way of accomplishing anything by myself. I can do these things with a little push from someone else, but if I'm on my own, I feel very unconfident. I worry too much of what other's think of me, which I cannot overcome because it's part of my personality.

Quote:
I just can't deal with anything.

Same here. When you've got low self-esteem, things are tough to deal with. My self-esteem would increase if people stopped staring at me in the street.

Quote:
Also dealing with change and unexpected things really stresses me out.

Me too. The bus what I get every day has changed the times, the destination, and even the actual buses. I miss the old times, the shorter journey, and the other buses. It's taking a long time getting used to.

People's egocentric reaction that anything different to them which doesn't fit into the society and culture they fit into must be inferior, need curing and need to be called a condition, a syndrome, a disorder rather than an open minded reaction about neurological diversity being fully intended and beneficial to our species resulting in a more tolerant, understanding and less conformist society with more options for people to live their life how they want to. I just hate how much humans seem to be hampering their own development by being so limited and one dimensional, in many circumstances current society gives you only one unwavering option and as an aspie I'm less conditioned to conformism which makes these options harder, sometimes unbearable.

1) Having bad social timing.
2) Having social anxiety about screwing up. Being an aspie, were gonna make significantly more social faux paus then NTs but cant stop dwelling on all those social mistakes. I have to learn to accept it as a natural part of aspie life.
3) Being rejected a lot which is something I need to accept as a natural part of aspie life.
4) To not know intuitively what I need to do to succeed and get what I want. Seriously Im probably gonna hit my head over and over for this one. People often arent gonna clearly spell it out what to do and what not to do, its implied majority of the time. I wish could relive my college yrs with having the intuition of what to do to be more successful.

The fact that it excludes me from liking mainstream things, like Saturday-night game shows, make-up, shopping, and celebraties.

Having a hard time standing up for myself. I just cannot do it. I am too nice, I don't like hostility, and I know that if I did protest back, I would say the wrong thing and would most probably either end up hurting someone, or being laughed at.

I too have this anger, about not being able to fit in and participate.

I spent a great deal of time thinking about this yesterday....

Maybe that is not what we aspies are here for?

Maybe if we have certain talents and gifts, we should focus on our strengths.

I have been questioning my anger re aspie rights, and have decided to not disparage NT's so much. However, we aspies still need emancipation and freedom from needing to conform to NT protocols, failing, then becoming a pariah....

The only thing I dislike about it is not being able to stop thinking. I have to analyse everything people say and do and I have to pour over every tiny decision like it might be the most important one of my life. But, most of all, I hate how it can stop me from falling asleep for hours on end while every pore of my body screams for sleep.

For the rest, I honestly don't really care. Lacking filters and making social gaffes has its black moments, but even NTs do a lot of weird social stuff, and music can be so beautiful when highly sensitive.

What I dislike about being as Aspie is:

The extreme social anxiety, I just started taking Buspar and so far, so good.
Inability to handle loud and sudden noises.
The feeling that I'm on the outside looking in.

Some things that immediately come to mind:
1) Lack of Empathy - Not being able to read people’s feelings
2) Not knowing how to show my love to those closest to me
3) Always getting things wrong, especially when acting on best intentions
4) Blindness to Non-verbal Communication in real time
5) Inability to engage in small talk
6) Loneliness, even when with friends and family.

All the above, seconded.

In terms of 1, it is rare for me to feel deeply about other people (things or topics aren't too bad). So sometimes its shocking, and somethings it is a tragedy for the absolute lack of realistically being a possible relationship. Not having 1) means I have no idea how to do 2-5, how can a relationship exist without those...

My learning issues and anxiety. Third one, OCD thinking, I hate it when I can't stop thinking about something when it's bothering me that much. I regress with it when I am that upset and I have a hard time not talking about it.

I guess isolating myself because I'm scared of not really being able to keep up in so many of the social situations in school. It's exhausting and just makes me really tense and nervous. I have close friends and since I know them well it's generally good just speaking to them, but they've recently started spending more time with another large group in school and it scares me joining them so I just end up sitting alone and trying to pretend to be busy and content.

Also, the way I'm always afraid of failure and critical of myself, and can't stop overthinking things. The way I take the smallest signs and immediately start thinking that somebody dislikes me- because they said something or looked at me in a way that suggests them thinking I'm stupid/disgusting/etc. The way nearly every situation, especially if it's unexpected, can make me feel nervous as hell to the point where I just can't cope and leave, or if that's not an option shut off from everything and "go into my mind".

What I hate about having Asperger's is having to experience how the society responds to me exhibiting traits of it. Especially being treated as a lesser human being... that really hurts.
