I don't even want to try getting pissed, because I might do something incredibly embarrassing. Plus I don't like being sick.

Alcohol used to make me more confident that everything I did was right and that therefore I should do whatever I wanted. It doesn't make me any more enamored with topics I always find uninteresting, so in that sense not more social.

Lately I find alcohol to be basically useless, I'm not as uptight as I used to be, and while it does have a generic 'I feel good' feeling for about the first hour, after that it makes me depressed and the hangover-type effects later are never enjoyable. Alcohol is also expensive and I find now that it tastes amazingly bad after a couple of gulps.

Alcohol may have been useful for me initially though, since I did behave in ways I never had before and I expanded my perceived limits.

Overall though, I would recommend avoiding alcohol if at all possible and just trying new things on your own. If anything, try using coffee or sugar instead.

I don't think I'm any less Aspergerish when I'm drinking; I might be more. The alcohol just makes me more comfortable with it. I try not to drink - it's too easy to drink too much with bad results.
