Well loud music I can deal with sometimes not 24/7 though......other then that though sudden loud noises do not sit well with me not just because of the AS. But yeah I tend to avoid places I know will be to loud and obnoxious, I don't like large crowds anyways.

I use earplugs. However... I can still hear people whisper with them on, not to mention the things I am trying to block out. (Is this supposed to happen?)
Does anybody know of a particularly good brand of earplugs, or something better than earplugs?
I like Chameleons, but you have to be fitted for them. So, someone will have to touch you to do this, but if you can make it through it's worth it for the quality.
are the customs really that much better?
They are for me. I've tried many different types, but those work best. Sound is my worst sensory issue. So, I'm serious business about it.

I definitely fit in the 'misophonia' category. I hate the sounds of chewing, breathing (especially shallow breathing), coughing, sniffing, people blowing their noses and so on. After looking up the definition for 'phonophobia' I think I may have some slight issues with that as well. Balloons used to make me very stressed as a child, but I haven't come across any since, really. I also don't like the sound of heavy drumming (more often bongos and similar instruments rather than a drum kit or timpanis) while I'm in the room. High pitched sounds bring no discomfort to me, though.
