Understandable. And I was simply pointing out that some people who are called trolls are, in fact, trolls.

Not always. I have been called one before but that didn't mean I was one so I doubt everyone who is called one is one. Sometimes they happen to be right.

I believe my quote was: some people who are called trolls are, in fact, trolls.

So obviously, I agree!

I also happen to think that this is one of those cases!

Yes, you said some people who are called trolls are in fact trolls. So I said not always.

Gah we probably got caught up in semantics.

I didn't. Some=not always

I'm thinking this is probably a troll post.

But I'm going to make the assumption that it's not and take the bait. The information you are looking for can be found in the link on Callista's blog.

I interpreted it as the way it was written, not "people who get called trolls, some of them are in fact trolls. " It took me about a few seconds to realize that is what littlelily meant when I was writing my last reply. :D

EDIT: Gah I thought you were Who am I when I made this response. I swore you had a Panda. You must have changed it after you made that response or right before. Or maybe it was my tired brain so I didn't pay that close enough attention.

But there aren't any subtle non-verbal cues...

LOL I did have a panda! I reserve the right to periodically switch my picture just to confuse the heck out of people! MWA A A A!

Anyway, back to the comment--I am still a bit confused because the way I wrote it was "I was simply pointing out that some people who are called trolls are, in fact, trolls." I did use the word some, not all. So again, confused. But that's okay. We both get it NOW I think so.....let's move on. :)

Of course, before I move on, I will point out that one characteristic of trolls is that they come, stir things up, then disappear. Where is our OP?

No one can be certain if s/he has Asperger's or autism.

Neither Asperger's nor autism is (as yet) defined by the presence of a genetic variant, or the inability to produce a protein, or some other unambiguously testable biologic property.

There are a large number of traits that are used to identify people with Asperger's or autism. Someone being evaluated may exhibit some or many of these traits, but diagnostic criteria are fuzzy.

Many of the traits are self-reported or are the subjective opinion of evaluators. As such, there is room for error.

The boundaries of these conditions are quite fuzzy.

Someone who self-diagnoses may be right, or wrong, or may fall into a grey zone that individual experts would disagree on.

Someoone who is professionally evaluated may be correctly diagnosed, misdiagnosed, or fall into a grey zone that individual experts would disagree on.

There is no certainty available in this area.

I have been professionally diagnosed with OCD, general anxiety disorder, and dysthemia (long-term depression).

I have self-diagnosed with Asperger's. Since I am 54, doing fairly ok (now), and really don't want to go through the hassle and expense of professional evaluation, I am not planning on seeking a professional diagnosis for Asperger's.

He probably didn't like the answers and left or he could just be lurking here and reading this thread whenever he sees a new response.
