American Flags
Quote:
I seem to remember that there are some unusual situations where the flag would be flown upside-down
In wartime the flag flown upside down is used to indicate that the military camp had been occupied by enemy forces and it was a trap (since foriegn enemies would be unlikely to notice).
Its come to generally mean "warning/emergency" though.
For your trip I do hope you've looked carefully at a map (and paid close attention to the distance scale) when planning it. Dont forget that the US is a HUGE country compared to Europe (I forget the scale but its something like the US is 50 times larger than england or something like that).
By concentrating your trip in one area though your really limiting your experience. Its like going to europe and visiting just one country.
Here in the US we have every environment on earth from desert to forest to mountains to swamps to plains even tundra and the local customs can vary wildly as can the local accent.
The only problem I really see with her displaying the flag a lot though is she will definately look like a tourist which might make her a target for predators.
