I have big problems with it. It's due to my fear of failure.

But it does work. It's the only thing that works. If you don't do it, then it won't get done; it's as simple as that. All other strategies revolve around just doing it, there is no exception. I've always been under the impression that the reason why people procrastinate is because they think if they wait long enough, eventually something will happen and the task will be completed without ever having done anything.

But, I'm guessing that by your reply, that actually isn't the issue. If it's actually something you want to do, does the procrastination still exist?

Irregardless, I have no other advice. If something needs to get done, then you just have to do it. Hurry up, do it quickly, and get it over with.

If this is how it works for you all the time, then I can see why you don't think AS is a disability.

Trying harder can actually make it harder to actually do it. "Just do it" doesn't work for many of us. The other strategies don't revolve around "just doing it." Many involve interrupting inertia, or making it a part of one's routines, or finding some other means to externalize the motivation to get something done.

To the OP: I use stickies. You can download it here: http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies/

I just schedule everything I need to do and have my computer alert me. This helps with several things, but not everything.

If I have two jobs to do in different parts of the house I sometimes find myself rocking back and forth on my feet trying to decide which way to go.

A little like the biblical story of the ass that stood between two containers of grain and starved to death because it was unable to decide which to eat from.

I don't procrastinate. I mean, why leave something for later or tomorrow when it can be done now, and you won't have to worry about it anymore?
