47?

And if you get the reference you win a cookie :P

People... The answer to Life, The Universe, and Everything is 42. I was assuming you took 42 which is the answer and added 5 to it for some reason. I was trying to find the significance of the number 5 somewhere in this thread.

Contrary to popular belief, you can divide by zero. The problem is the answer is not something the human mind can comprehend in this plane of existence.

Wow, I'm the opposite with plants. I often recognize related plant families, even before I've fully identified them. I don't know much latin, except scientific names and it drives me up the wall when the Latin names make no sense, like calling purple plant "glauca" because that's as blue as this pink flower ever gets. aaAARRGGGHHH!

This tendency to classify plants causes me some embarassment, because I don't think of myself as a botanist (label maker, geneologist, mortician), I'm a horticulturalist (nurse, dietician, personal trainer, psychologist, whisperer). There's a big difference to me. Special interest? ... sure.

DirtDawg.....when I was reading your interests(I am a little dyslexic, dah)I saw Gynocoligist next to mortician...and all of a sudden.....it all made sense....then I reread it and decided, your still a mystery.

Thats cool about the plants....I always thought my life would have been easier(love the sciences but bad at them)if we were forced to learn Latin in school like the old days(when teachers could whip students.....I kid, because I care)...Guess even the scientist who knew latin didnt care about making my life any easier....

Thats weird.. in my printing of the book it was 47.. I remember it clearly because I thought it strange one of the "questions" proposed was 6 times 7 which didnt equal the total.

Guess it was a typo :P

My school teaches Latin, and we all have to do the same subjects, so it's compulsory. Ego linguam latinam amo, sed mala in ea sum.

Well, yeah, like most stuff, for instance the 4th dimension (not counting timespace), the square root of negative numbers, the zero-eth potence of zero...

I love Kant's idea that there's a real universe that's very different from the one we percieve. Because of our simple minds we shape an image of it easy enough for us to comprehend.

Hmm I was sure we covered away to divide by zero in calculus III. Though a quick
skim of my cal book tells me I do not care.
