I find your question annoying, but on the other hand its quite amusing, like it is with everything that involves opinions.

Regarding your questions, I usually know exactly what to say, but really if I look into it for REAL, a negative opinion can switch to a positive one. Why am I talking about negative and positive anyway, its undescribable, my opinions are... IMPOSSIBLE TO DESCRIBE!! !

"What do you want me to say?"
"What's the correct answer?"

I always try to be nice and say ya you look nice (and whatever). It's easy for me as I don't have a strict beauty standard, and consider all sorts of people good looking, including fat ones, so I wouldn't be lying anyway. The ones you have to lie through your teeth to answer and can't wait to shake off, but they keep pestering you for more details so you have to keep building up the lies, are the nasty ones that annoy me a lot. Sometimes I wonder: they must know they hear lies when they ask those questions. Maybe they expect lies, too? Maybe what they really want to know is not "do I look fat" but "do you care enough about me to act nice and not hurt my feelings"?

I'm a keen angler and love the peace and tranquility that it offers even if I'm not catching.
I hate it when "armchair" anglers come wandering around the lake/river offering unsolicited advice.

"have you fished here mate?"
"have you fished there mate?"

I just want them to go away and leave me alone.

It's a bad idea to ask that type of question. It's like fishing for compliments. It appears egotistical, shallow and vain to ask people questions like that. I have made the mistake of asking someone if I was fat and since I was thin it didn't matter, but now I conclude they are pointless questions indeed.

:chin: Maybe I should bring this knowledge across the next person who asks me such things? I wander how that will work out?

Lucky you! Unfortunately I learned lying when I was 4. It's one of my main coping techniques in dealing with people. I'm sure I lie about something to my parents everyday, because they wouldn't believe if I told the truth. I always thought that's what it takes to be nice to people - lying through your teeth to say they look good in their new outfit, you love them and prefer being with them over doing anything else, no they're not stupid, you appreciate their gifts, you like their food, you enjoyed their hour long phone call at 11pm, you love the bag of trinkets they got for free at trade shows, you appreciate their effort to help you make new friends -by introducing someone who's as weird as yourself...etc.

I felt like a brick struck my head when I realized there are loads of people who are naturally nice and don't lie much. Must be nice to be them. Being honest is so easy. :(

I totally get what you mean :P i've been like that for most of my life but now at age 16 i just feel that lying for other people's well being doesn't bring either one of us further in life.
