I'm very sensitive to odors. A lot of perfumes and even the scent of flowers smell like cat pee to me, and give me a headache. I like the way I smell naturally.

Hygiene issues, I've got 'em!

As a kid I hated taking baths or showers and still do. A lot of the time I just forget. I don't mind brushing my teeth but I also forget. I'll see my toothbrush but my brain doesn't make a connection.

I will also wear the same clothes for several days if I don't have to go anywhere. In many areas of the world they have to wear the same clothes for multiple days out of necessity. Same with bathing.

My husband hasnt brushed his teeth in about ten years.

Really. He's also never had a cavity.

Or a kiss since he last brushed his teeth.

He showers about once a month. He's the NT, I'm the aspie. I shower daily or try to.

Ivory soap is the least smelling of all the soaps. Also you can get that clear glycerine soap for your face for acne and it has literally NO smell.

I like the smell of some soaps. I LOVE Safeguard and also Irish Spring. If you dont like the smell of powder (I like original shower to shower) you can use plain cornstarch. It has no smell and it's the main ingredient other than talc in a lot of powders. For deoderant, secret unscented has no smell to me once it's on. I'm sensitive to smells, very much so, but the ones I like, I REALLY like.

I remember the first time I smelled original shower to shower powder. A friend spent the night with me and used it after her shower, right before bed. Back then, kids spending the night with each other shared a bed. I remember telling her when she got in bed "You smell GOOD!" That was inappropriate. We were 17. But she left me the powder the next day and then I bought some. It doesn't smell the same nowadays.

Oh, same.

Supposedly I would act up so much during bathtime, my parents would take turns bathing me, and would let me get really dirty before they caved in.

I would shower every day if I didn't hate the actual experience so much. I hate being naked...and cold...and wet.

I have long, long hair that takes about four hours to dry, so until then, I'm freezing.

Apparantly, to NT women, baths are great! Maybe they take them differently or something. I get in there and put soap on the rag and wash my face. Then rinse it. Then I wash my upper body and lay down and rinse it. Then I stand up and wash my lower body and sit back down so it rinses itself. Then I lean back and wet my hair. I put in shampoo and move it around. I rinse that. I do the same for conditioner. After being rinsed well I get out and dry off and am in a bad mood. I do not see a bath as any relaxing thing. Calgon' take me away means nothing to me.

Like a few others, I actually have a deadened sense of smell and I've had a history of taking less baths than ordinary. One of my elementary school teachers approached my parents about it actually.

My sisters always tried to teach me about the importance of bathing (and later on brushing my teeth), but I could never really understand their obsession with cleanliness until later.

Nowadays, I do take a bath, but only once every few/couple days. I also wear the same clothes in between those intervals. It's a little funny since my niece often asks me why I wear the same shirt I wore yesterday/other day/etc. I try to keep up with brushing my teeth as much as I can, but it's still a little hard since it's not something I'm used to. But I try.

I would like to think that I have good hygiene, but.......my teenage daughter (who's NT) has occasionally commented on my "smelling bad", and let's just say she's asked if I'm sure that I washed myself everywhere. Which gets me all paranoid, because my sister used to make that sort of comment to me when we were in high school, and I usually could NOT smell/didn't notice whatever she was referring to.

I wash once or twice a week, usually whenever I notice my hair getting greasy looking. I often wear the same set of clothes several days in a row, and it really doesn't bother me. Other people haven't commented on me or anything, and nobody has come up to me to say "You stink." Though there is a reason why I don't shower more then twice a week- it's because more then that leaves my skin quite dry and it's embarrassing if I get dandruff. 8)

i love being clean, cleanliness is next to godliness. this said, i'm too lazy to actually shower as often as i should [up to twice daily] and will shower only when i am gross of oily sweat and grime after working out. i just love being squeaky-clean :) showers also feel nice.
in periods of inclement weather when it is impossible to go outside to work out, i have been known to go a week without showering, i am reeking to heaven by that time to the point where i just can't stand the stench and so i will then shower even if i don't have to be around any other people. i am a hermit so i can get away with this.
