That Lion King movie song. The Lion Sleeps Tonight.

That pre-dates the Lion King by about 50 years, and I don't think it appears in the film.

Ahh, the Tokens? Or Tightfit? Great song. Though I recall Stephen King used it as a nightmare trigger in one of the Dark Tower series...

I think the Tokens popularised it, but it was written even earlier.

I don't hate particular songs (that I can think of anyways), but I do hate the genres of rap, hip-hop/pop, and country.

Country is easy to explain... it's redneck jockey fuel, essentially what is a rock band, throwing in a violin and calling it a fiddle, then warbling like some texan fool. I spent many a car ride with my dad to school listening to Willie Nelson. Now THAT is true country music; however, apparently mainstream doesn't think Willie is country any more, so yeah.

Rap... I hate that whole gangster/thug ideal that almost all rap seeks to idolize. That and the views being professed about being a playa, all women are for is for sex, money is the whole world and with it you buy lots of sex, I detest that. So much of the crime and violence in the united states stems from this rap and gangster lifestyle that I won't associate with anyone if I find out they're into that sort of thing. (Not all rap as a medium is necessary bad, however. See: "Libera me" from hell. Also, ironic raps.)

Hip-hop/pop is, in my eyes, the mainstream's incorporation of rap in general. I'm actually having a hard time describing this, because I don't listen to regular music/radio much and so I don't hear most of what gets mass-produced these days. I guess you'd call me a hipster for thinking like this, but then I'd think you're a hipster for thinking someone like me is a hipster. :P

"Take my Breath Away" by Berlin and "I Just Called to Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder because of the key change near the end of the song. I always hated it ever since I was little.

"Santa Claus is Coming to Town"

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good, for goodness sake

So not only do God and all His angels see me when I take a dump, but some weird, fat old guy who likes to have little kids sit on his lap is watching me too ...

To make you feel better, now you can see Santa take a dump.

maybe it wouldn't have been quite as objectionable had he said "have a drink AFTER a drive" or deleted the following lines- "Speed along the lane, Do a ton, or a ton and twenty-five. When the sun goes down, you can make it..."

LOL. "Super Bass" is okay if you don't happen to be watching the terrible video that accompanies the song. Well, okay, maybe it's just not a very good song, either. But I happen to like Nicki, she's got spunk and the courage to wear some truly ghastly outfits, and she kinda reminds of a black Dolly Parton.

It's just how the key changes and some of the tones in the song, if anything else.
