I can't help but feel responsible for how dull this thread is. Was the intention of the op to find friends? Its hard to see how to begin there, especially on a public forum.

Maybe we should list our interests in a separate thread and form kind of 'friending' section for the forum. Like dating but for friends, similar ages interests and such?

That's a good idea! Look I know this is kind of dull, agreed, but I'm just trying to get to know people who are my own age, or in my own age range. I've never met an aspie my age or even close to my age, so you can understand why I wanna meet fellow aspies!

I have some much more interesting threads you can check out on the discussion board if you want, and why not start a thread for your own idea? :)

Haha That;s ok! Thanks for answering, 1984 is still really close in age! I know this thread is kinda boring but I really wanna connect with aspies around my age group

Born in 1985 here, so at the old end of your range.

I think that it's not a function of year but of the fact that social groups of any kind for children, teens, and adults tend to be separate, and we're too old to be teens, yet too young to be like most adults, particularly if we're delayed in maturing. I'm 27, but feel more like 15ish, so I find that most adult aspie groups are filled with people who socialize in a far more adult way than is my preference. On the other hand, teen aspie groups (or teen groups of any kind) wouldn't want me, and even if they did, that still wouldn't take care of my needs for a dating relationship.

I'm actually looking to possibly start an aspie group in my area for young adults--since where I currently live, there are mostly families (hence many 35+ people and young kids). Even NTs born between 1985 and 1990 are hard to come by, as my few NT friends can definitely attest to. But there must be young adult aspies who are still living with their families and (like me) just finally realizing that they want a group of friends.

I, too, was born in '87. I truly hope all y'all are doing well... I mean, these are the beautiful years of our lives, aren't they? Early to mid 20s, I can't say I'm faring that spectacularly. Maybe next year will be different, who knows?

So, what generation are we? Generation Y? I hear we're supposed to have a lot of crap coming our way due to the economical crises, decrease of jobs, and less health care and retirement money in our old day. Better brace yourself!
