I was also diagnosed with an ASD at a very early age and I have always felt pretty NT. Most people act surprised when they find out that I was diagnosed on the autism spectrum.

I think I'm different to most people, including those with AS. Having said that, I think people with AS are different to each other. I've seen some of myself in some females with AS - like the interest in people and being a bit mad sometimes.

Sometimes I question the diagnosis I was given because I don't exactly fit the mold. While I don't go out to parties anymore like you do (When I stopped the alcohol and drugs I found I couldn't tolerate bars and clubs anymore), I used to go clubbing regularly. My roommate took me under his wing for a time and I got to make "friends" with all of his friends. If you look through my photo albums I look like the typical girl in her twenties. If you asked the people that know or work with me they'd probably tell you I am sweet or quiet. I doubt anyone outside of my family and roommate would suspect anything too abnormal. I am very private about my AS and can cover up even some of the worst meltdowns. I've always considered it an advantage, but lately its left me feeling isolated...like I don't fit in either world.

I pass as NT, but I think part of that might be because most people think autism is a child rocking in a corner. I certainly don't feel NT.

Sometimes I feel ugly NT.

Does that count? :P

Seriously, I never feel NT. Never have. I have always known there was something significantly different about me compared to most people I've known.

Most of the time I feel like an aspie, but once in a blue moon I feel NT. I hope one day I can feel like that most or all of the time.

Sometimes... Especially when I meet people who share my interests.

Only when people here talk about their sensory overloads, or cognitive impairments. I don't seem to have as much problems with overload as most people here, though I do have some hypersensitive, and I'm pretty well rounded, being gifted in most areas. I also think I'm better with nonverbal communication and abstract/metaphorical thinking than most aspies.
