This is a great thread. I'm still learning about my autism and this is perfect for understanding all the things which make me/us different...

1. No social life
2. Un-athletic
3. No eye contact
4. Dislike loud noises, value tranquility
5. Dislike having a busy schedule
6. Insomnia
7. Literary-style vocabulary in everyday speech
8. Obsessive about geography from a young age
9. Obsessive about the aesthetics of my living space
10. Emotional sensitivity
11. Tendency to become hyper-focused on random things at the expense of my meal and sleep schedules
12. Needs structure in daily routine (ironically, I guess- see above)
13. Slightly peculiar, ambiguous accent
13. Trouble sitting still (stim often, though I'm often aware of it)
14. Trouble finding a good career path
15. Looks at issues objectively and rationally (at least I think so  ) exasperated at how other people let their emotions and social ties rule their opinions
16. Shutdown episodes
17. Prefer to express myself in writing rather than speech

This was strangely therapeutic for me...

I spend way too much time on the internet.
Social life is limited, but I wish it was increased a little more.
Stim quite a bit.
Narrow range of "NT-approved-WEIRD" interests. I.E. I am probably one of the last teenagers in WA state to still use VHS. If an NT saw my room they would run out of there like a maniac. People would think "he's really weird."
Another one - I'd rather drive one of the school buses I rode as a child, than drive a Viper, a Rolls-Royce, a Ferrari, or any "cool" car. And speaking of cars, 17.5 years old and still haven't done drivers' ed. Reason? $400 for a boring class!
And actually, I have kept memory of all the regular route buses I rode, and MOST of the spares as well as MOST of my regular drivers.
No Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram in my life.
I make a lot of lists, and inventory a lot of my "items".
Still doesn't enjoy fire drills. And never will. They were NASTY as a little kid, but of course I had to deal with early 1990s Simplex continuous alarms, instead of chimes or code-3. :x
Yes, I do speak loudly, family doesn't like it however.
Yes, I like routine, clear to the point.
Unlike most 17-year-olds, I have ZERO interest in rap music. Also have ZERO interest in Beats by Dr. Dre $300 s--t headphones either...would rather wear Sennheiser's. My music interests are closer to a 63-year-old's than a 17-year-old's.
Insomnia's right. I'm up at 1:35AM on an early Sunday morning (which is rare for me - I'm usually off to bed by 12:30-1AM).
Agree with un-athletic. I'd rather play golf than try playing high school football.
