I do a certain number of things all the time, especially if I'm excited or tense... I wonder if they qualify as stimming:

- clenching one hand or pressing it between the knees when sitting or holding tight a corner of clothing
- massaging the hands alternatively, if not using them otherwise
- biting lips or the inside of the cheeks
- curling toes

I also flap my hands sometimes but I can't recall doing it when younger...

I used to do that thumb thing too, although I don't think I ever sucked my thumb when I was little. I still put my thumb in a fist from time to time, but now I do a lot of other weird hand things like touching my thumb to each finger, folding my hands over each other in various configurations, twirling a pen, and other stuff. I like your costume by the way.

Yeah I do a lot of weird things other than hiding my thumb. Do NOT give me caffeine cause I will get all hyper and flap all over the place...but then again I love caffeine so I take it back haha Thanks, I made the costume myself.

I've got a few that come and go but the one I do constantly is gently pulling/twirling the hair on the front of my scalp. At work, driving, while reading this thread, you name it. I'm actually not sure if I'm going bald on top or it's just that I've been pulling the hair too much. More to come on that :)

Now that I have managed to reduce my stimming (by managing pulse and pressure, becoming more aware of involuntary processes, and managing emotional intensity), I wonder if anyone here has managed to do small things to stim. I am considering random hand motions during conversations, but does anyone know if that will probably work?
