Another "I thought I was the only one" moment!

I have a favorite type of bowl and a favorite spoon. I prefer small forks to big forks and small cups to big cups. It's not that I NEED it to be that way, I just prefer it.
I also have certain utensils/tableware that go with different foods (a pasta fork as opposed to a cake fork; a certain bowl that I use every time I make instant ramen). Does anyone else do this?

I can quite easily eat one of those huuuge chocolate bars purely because of the taste and texture of the chocolate in my mouth but then I HAVE to have something savoury before, during or afterwards to balance it out or my mouth feels horrible.

I do that too! I like sweet food while I'm eating it, but I can't keep the taste in my mouth for any extended period of time. I have to eat something that isn't sweet to neutralize the taste.

I also save the best part of my meal for last because that's the taste that will be in my mouth the longest.

I used to drink juice with a spoon, just for fun. My parents used to call me a baby when I did that, but I've never seen a baby drink with a spoon....

My daughter does this. I don't mind, except for the drips, which she never wipes up.

I remember when I was a kid I used to make special drinks, I'd put all the things in I really really liked the taste of to make the ultimate drink. It never occurred to me that mixing things such as butter, jam, milk, sugar, chocolate, bread and cereal in a huge glass would result in anything other then a rancid glass of sludge.

I also sometimes used a spoon for drinks when I was little. I would also only ever eat desserts with a small tea spoon which I still do now, even if it's a huge slab of cake I will sit and eat it with a tea spoon. I still can't get over my husband eating cake with a fork, to me fork's are for your main meal, savoury items and NOT sweet things like cake. I also don't like using a knife with my meal, I will use the fork to cut things up. This is partially because I don't like how a knife feels in my hand and partially because it means less washing up

Ah yes, I used to do that. My brother and sister were daring each other to eat a bunch of random food mixed together so I decided to actually make one of my own to eat. It grossed them out.

When my daughter was little, this is one of the things that made her stand out from the crowd. She always demanded the same cup (blue one), bowl (blue one) or cutlery. She's more flexible these days and understands that, if a certain cup isn't washed, she'll have to wait even longer for her drink, as I have to wash up first. She'd rather not wait and accepts another cup. But, I still ask her what she wants and never assume anything.

I wash my bowl after every meal so I can use it again. Funny thing is this behaviour isn't autistic to my sister at all, who thinks it's cute that I eat from the same bowl my mum bought for me.

i cannot leave any morsels of food on my plate. when i'm treating myself to a dollar menu at mickey-D's, i lick up every crumb inside the wrapper, every drop of ketchup and every wayward bit of chopped onion and lettuce. after i eat out of my goulash bowl, i have to take a hard sharp-edged plastic scraper and scrape off every bit of food stuck to the sides of the bowl or on the plate. if i drink soda out of a can, after i empty it i have to turn the can upside down over my mouth and suck the remaining drops out of the can, then i shake the can to hear if i left any drops behind, then repeat the process.

Me too!

Except when I'm on the verge of throwing it all back up.

When I was a kid I had to have every last sip of soft drink, even if it wasn't mine. My sister and I had to share a lot and I would cry if she finished the soft drink can instead of me. Sometimes she did it on purpose to get a reaction out of me.

i used to amuse my [late] mother by licking my bowls and plates so thoroughly that she couldn't tell if they had been eaten out/off-of.
