I'm personality B to a tee. Plus, I sometimes get some of the arrogance of the personality A, just to spice things up. I used to think I was an extremely outgoing, funny guy who ought to be popular. Somehow, I never managed to find all those friends I thought an outgoing guy should have.

And I have definitely found that most people find personality B more annoying.

What I wouldn't give to be able to be the quiet, shy type!

I am type A. I am very wuiet as I often don't have anything to say. I imagine people think i'm boring.

Type B people drive me insane. I attract them like crazy because i'm quiet they find me and talk at me for hours! It's annoying coz the conversation isn't two way. They don't want to talk to me they just want someone to listen.

I think this has made me even more quiet and shy. I am sick of drawing people to me whom I don't actually like.

I'm scared as well that the people who I do find it easy to talk to think I am type B and just want me to go away. I don't know how to tell if someone geniunely likes me or is just humouring me to be polite.

I am very confused by people.

Let me say first, this is all based on superficial perception of the person and how you might see the person, not what is inside.

Personality A: Perceived as cold, aloof, standoffish, maybe snobbish or shy. Keeps to themselves, doesnt really interact very much with other people. NTs perceive that this person chooses not to interact with people purposely.

Personality B: Outgoing yet very quirky, awkward and weird. This person makes strong attempts to interact with others yet NTs dont always like them. NTs might perceive them as a freak, weirdo and perhaps rather annoying.

NTs which personality bothers you more? I was just curious.

I hope you figured out what relation Im drawing this to.

I think I am NT, possibly.
Definitely B. They make me feel embarrassed if they are like that and weird in a bad way. It makes me uncomfortable. Person A is more intriguing to me, and I am more happy if we have successful interaction. It feels more special. :P

Thanks for the responses. I got curious about this question because sometimes I think my coworkers are pissed at me because Im so quiet. I dont like it when people try to get me out of my shell, because I get the feeling that people wouldn't like it out of my shell anyways.

I can relate to that. Most of my coworkers don't like me and avoid me or ignore me and think it's weird that I don't talk much, but if I do talk they just give me a strange look or ignore me.

I get the feeling that most of the people who try to "get me out of my shell" are doing it just so that they will feel less uncomfortable around me themselves, not out of interest in actually getting to know me or including me more socially.

This is a good question. Can see why you asked it, very clever. I am aspie so my answer doesn't count. Perhaps it would be good to do as a vote? Or maybe even post it on a NT website or something.

Neither of those bother me. But, I'm an aspie, not an NT. Also, I am type B. People seem to like me though, for some reason.

Hands down I very much prefer Type A over Type B. I am NT but I hate people who talk too much about strange things. I should say AS does not hold the market on the Type B personality. At least I don't think the people who annoy me most have AS. MIL and FIL are a prime example non AS MIL is way more annoying than AS FIL. The odd thing about this statement is FIL is a Type B personality I despise but I can see he can't help the way he is. Although he has retreated and became more Type A in the years since I met him. MIL just talks to much and tries to be in charge which I hate.

I will also say that I work in the computer/engineering and the Type B's (not sure if they are aspie) I meet usually make me laugh. So if you think you are Type B as describe and people laugh when you say things you are probably funny.

Sorry I belong to a online parenting forum where there is a abbreviated language not that different from here. I jump between the forums and I forgot that you wouldn't know that MIL and FIL are short for Mother in Law and Father in Law.
