Pick an extremely unpopular viewpoint to expound upon and flamebait and suprise suprise your going to get flamed.

No ones trying to limit your freedom of speech your free to say what you want but we're also free to call you a flippin moron for the things you say.

Please people if you have threads/post you think are bad post the links and explain why. To simply throw out a statement like this is not fair to the Alex or the real moderators!

A person (who I think was a troll) did list a number of threads in another thread that
they felt should not be here. They did not explain why but I looked them all up and
gave a point by point reply to each ( they were all legit threads).

WP is not broke. Some old users feel the old WP was great. Just like old timers say
how the old days were the good old days and the current generation is going to
burn in hell. Wrong! Yes WP is a growing changing membership base. But people trashing WP 10-18-2006 are saying the current bulk of active members do not
meet their old 2004 (or so) standards. Those days are over. WP is a living beast and the life blood is the current active members.

Now listen here, Son, WrongPlanet.net used to be filled with the kinds of engaging debate previously only found at Harvard, Oxford, MIT, Princeton, and the like. These days a free-wheeling University of Arizona or University of South Florida attitude pervades these hallowed forums. And I tell you what: It stinks! In 2004 we didn't disclose sexual perversions under the guise of intellectual openness and freedom of speech; we had a better word for that back then: malfeasance. If some sicko drifted our way with that kind of shock therapy, we went to the nearest tree, broke a strap, and took swift justice upon his hindquarters. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a fracas between Alex and some of the moderators, who slithered away when their hisses and bearing of fangs failed to intimidate brave Alexander Plank. The new moderators, raised in the anything-goes second half of the twentieth century, have been unable to to defend the forums against the demented, the perverse, the blasphemous, and the ignorant.

All I have to say, if ye be a God-fearing man, pray, pray hard because these are the times that try men's souls.

There have been rumors and some data to suggest most the people who have been
banned or who left WP infact now walk with the dead. WP is sort of like the mob you leave it only oneway. I saw a few posters on other sites who use the same usernames
they used on WP but detail study of their IP address reveals they are coming from the
same server contracted by WP. Also the WP staff is the worlds leaders at AI forum bots.
The average WP user can be simulated with a program small enough to run on a
vintage 25 MHZ PC. But the joke is on the WP staff because they and the entire world
is a simulation running on Werberts PDA.

PDA's are the work o' the Devil. This whole site is a figment of my imagination, a fevered dream caused by a Friday night sugar rush.

Am I blasphemous? I love life, but I also love the ignorant... Does that make me foolish? I believe such shock and the sexual side of man shows that you think the body is dirty? desires are dirty? Surely some that hurt others are wrong but I've seen none of that here..

SnoCone is right. Most of the moderators have lost their moderating priveledges or had the tag removed from underneath their usernames altogether. If I am not mistaken, CockneyRebel is the only one who is still moderating now.

So, we are left with a decision. Someone needs to bring this to the attention of someone who can possibly do something about it. Who wants to talk to Alex and let him know what is going on?

Well the hand full of people who think WP is broken can feel free to PM Alex. I'm sure
he gets bombarded with PMs he has to deal with and a few oversenstive people wanting
him to use a Iron Fist policy on the vast majority of us is something that he largely and
rightly ignores. You have threads or post that you have problems with PM the links to him and explain why. To give some blanket statement to a busy guy like Alex
that you want him to jump on something he has no idea what your talking about I'm sure he largely ignores. He knows the nature of aspies and how they are oversenstive to things (he had to deal with us all since day one) he knows from experience he
(no one) can make 100% of us happy so he has choose a path that 95% can
tolerate.

All I am saying is that WP has been without moderators who have any sort of power for quite a few months. Alex is the only one with both the ability and the authority to fix this and he should be notified at once.

What is broke? If you answer you want moderators then give example of threads or post
that they were needed and explain why. Look I'm sure there will be cases their needed
but when you list them for me I'm going to do two things. First I'm going to on a point
by point basis go over each one to see if your right. Next I'm going to compare the number of posts (and yes please narrow it down to posts not threads unless the entire
thread is wrong) to the entire pool of other posts. And yes it will be numbers like
1 in 1000 post bother the oversensitives.

Just wanted to let everyone know that, yes, I am a simulation running on a 25mhz HP. Any resemblance to an actual human being is a clever programming trick.

That makes me wonder.. would an aspie fail the verbal communication turing test?

I doubt it. Its amazing how dumb computers are compared to even a young person with
major mental problems.

I've download alot of "chatter box" programs in the past and i think there is an on going
world contest every year or so as to make the best one. But usually in a few question
they will clearly be outted as a computer.

It would be cool to build a chatter box that knew all of wp posts/posters. Basically all we know about each other is our posts and thats all the chatter box would know.

The problem with those chatterbox programs is they are all scripted theres no actual AI behind it its just a contest to see who can make the most massive database of trigger phrases.

What ever you say, whether it is free speech or not, someone is going to disagree with you, it's just the way it is. If you choose to post about your lifestyle on a public forum, you just have to take what people throw at you, they have free speech as well.

Also I don't think free speech is an excuse to say some of the things some people say.

You're talking to someone that has been e-ganged up on for nearly 10 years, and it isn't going to go away.
