I was under the impression that dianthus was criticizing (or was puzzled by) the sentence structure of the thread title. I have to agree that "find out about NTs" is syntactically a bit awkward. I'm somehow missing an object. But I guess it could be read as "inform yourself / learn about NTs". Personally, I would add an "all" if that was the intended meaning: Find out all about NTs.

Exactly. I hadn't even read the thread, or if I did I didn't remember it, but I kept noticing the thread title and it bugged me. No offense to the OP, who for all I know might not be a native English speaker. I kept thinking, find out what exactly?

That's impossible.

Meh, people are people. I don't know, I've only met a handful of people with AS over the years, a really small handful. So, since it's not me who determines who has AS, it's the DSM IV, I just tend to treat all people relatively equally since I'm not a licensed mental health professional. I deal with their good and bad points on an individual basis. To me, I don't view my NVLD or AS in much higher regard than if a person has Shenmue for their favorite video game like me or something. It's just another trait of a person, sure, sometimes AS or NVLD helps me get along with people on that commonality, sometimes it doesn't.

Really, all this talk of "NTs" versus "AS" sounds like remarkably similar to racism, just like races, you're going to find good and bad people in each race, or in this case, neurological makeup. Like race, it's a real thing, that affects people in real life ways, but it's not the end all be all of determining what makes up the person.

Let's cure the nt! If that does not work there is always fire....

We spent our whole lives watching and trying to understand them. I just wish a few more would try to give us the same deal.

I wish individuality would make a come back. That trend I'll gladly follow. The majority isn't always correct.

I don't have to be like NT's. They don't have to be like me. The problem is, alot of NT's conform and mold themselves into whatever is cool. How many times have NT's picked on people only to turn into them?

Why should anyone abide by that standard?

It's a control issue. How about people quit trying to tell others how to be, control others and learn how to control themself and go find themself. Are people really that scared of individuality?

Normality isn't always right. Fitting in with the current trend isn't the best way to be either.

I am already aware there are good things about neurotypical individuals, so why do I need to try harder to learn more about them?

No. I don't find them sufficiently interesting.

'Try harder' is terrible advice. You should be more specific.
