I'm 34 and still get carded!
I have also noticed that I look older when I put make-up on. I don't usually wear any.

It kind of depends on the person for me. A teacher in my school mistook me for a senior, when I'm a freshman!! ! But at the same time, people think my 12-year-old cousin is my older sister!! !! ! I've always thought it was because it was my height or because I wear a lot of things that middle schoolers wear (ex: osiris high tops, character flat tops, plastic bracelts from hot topic, colorful T's, stretchy skinnies that are NOT jeggings the buttons from hot topic that are pinned on my backpack).

I did not know it was common for people with aspergers to look young for their age until I saw this thread.

I gambled over the summer on a cruise ship. I am 19 and got carded 8 times for it (on a cruise ship you only need to be 18 to gamble, I could pass for 15 or 16)

My brother is 17 and looks older than me

Have you seen Jamie " |I've put in a million quid of my own money and ain't &*^*Ing getting anything out of it " Oliver these days he looks like a pastie faced overweight 50 year old.

He has 20 or 30 mlllion or so quid why not retire , exercise and spend time with the family?

He''ll end up like a broiler chicken (breast heavy) that grows fast and dies young

Poor things the 1st time I saw one on a death train (road) I thought those poor fluffy babies

I have always been told I looked younger than I was. I even got carded once in my 40s! Maybe the clerk was just trying to make me feel good.

Here is an hypothesis, emerging suddenly from my mind: Maybe it has to do with stimming: The brain is not only located in the head. It exists throughout the body in the form of peptides and their receptors that are located all over the place. These chemicals are at the basis of emotion, according to molecular biologist Candice Pert. Because we Aspies have small social brains, we are not thinking about what other people are thinking about us. We are therefore less inhibited about making movements, touching ourselves, making weird sounds and this helps our emotional body /brain release tension. Whereas an NT represses all these desires to wiggle around and bark or whatever and so keeps more tension in their body/brain leading them to age more rapidly. Plus worrying about "fitting in" must take a toll on them. Poor creatures.

I don't think it has to do with being less stressed. I am often anxious and have had a stress disorder since age 17.

I've always assumed it was due to lack of facial expressions that was the primary culprit for this phenomena. Couple that with a general avoidance of sun exposure, and the "aspie" look, and the result was a youthful appearance.
