I don't get sick or violent because of other people's eating noises, but some are surely disgusting. To me, any unnecessarily loud mouth noise during eating is inexcusable. I like music in the background.

Don't talk with food in your mouth and do try to chew with your mouth closed and don't stuff your mouth so full it won't close and never slurp anything and always wipe your mouth and don't slam your utensils against your plate and don't lick your fingers and don't sniff every thing before you eat it .......

On a personal note ... I used to do a stim with air inside my mouth, until someone asked what I was doing. I had done that my whole life without knowing it bugged people. I didn't realize how loud I was. I was almost twenty when FINALLY someone spoke up to get me to realize that I was being "inappropriate" with my mouth noises. Oops!

Back to eating ... I once dated a fine looking young lady, who had this little annoying quirk she did when she ate. Everytime she put a fork into her mouth, she would bite down on it and draw it out from between her teeth with an excruciating high pitched metal-on-bone scraping sound. To the tenth power worse than nails on a chalkboard, in my view.

One beautiful Sunday afternoon, I went to meet her parents over dinner. My fear was confirmed as the whole family had the same horrendous trait. I sat in a room with seven other people, methodically, dragging their forks over their teeth with every slow motion bite. I could think of nothing else! I was a terrible conversationalist that afternoon. All I could do to keep from cringing, was try to block it ALL out ... every sound.

That day I knew, I was NOT going to be able to pursue this relationship. Sometimes the "dork" does dump the "hottie".

My mum makes horrible slurpy, throaty noises when she eats. She says that she has to make those noises cos her nose is blocked :?

My brother-in-law has a few false teeth, if I am placed next to him at a family meal I have to try and move, the hollow chewing sound is excruciating!
The worst is people who eat with their mouth open, causing that wet mulching sound!

I can't bear listening to people eat. It makes me feel a combination of sick and violent. I always eat alone; can't eat with someone else in the same room.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who felt this way; I hate listening to people eat; that's why I tap my feet or cover my ears at a meal.

I've learned just last week that when someone uses a napkin over and over (like after every bite), it drives me bonkers. But then again, I don't like that particular person as it is, so I think that may have had a lot to do with it.

It does not make me totally bonkers,
but it creates a reaction where I
make a short, dry, loud snort.

Peple woner why i keep snorting
at dinner.

yes I do too! It makes me cringe. Especially the sound of a mouth when the tounge is pulled slowly from the roof of the mouth, creating a sort of suction noise...discusting. I really hope I never annoy anyone by making weird noises like that. I probably do.

Never bothered me but it bothered my little brother and he used to complain about it. In fact I am one of the loudest Popsicle suckers on earth. It drove my mom bonkers and I thought she was weird. Popsicles are meant to be loud when you suck on them. Don't like it, get used to it. In fact I used to love having popsicles around my mother to drive her crazy with the sound and she tell me to leave the room.

I have always loved pissing people off when they act irrational. It's one of my pet peeves. Don't like it, stop acting irrational.

The sight and sound of humans eating annoys and disgusts me more than, well, I can't think of anything off the top of my head that grosses me out more(that I've actually had to endure). However, I do enjoy watching animals eat. I've stared at animals eating for long periods of time, enthralled. I especially love watching an animal gradually work at a piece of food, like when a caterpillar eats a leaf. Well, some of them, but like I said before, when humans do it it's disgusting.

Yes. I leave the room and don't return until I know said annoying person is done. What's worse when they talk to you while eating.
I now say quite rudely 'are you eating?' And then give them a look as if to say 'I'm not talking to you until you're done eating'.
It is very irritating.
I think it has to do with my hypersensitivity to sound.

Yeah, as much as I hate listening to people eat, I do enjoy having chickens eat out of my hand (I once had to hold one and bring her head to the food to make sure she ate something. Despite the slight pinch, there's something really nice about it.

I don't think it so much Bugs me as it
Causes me to have a Reaction.

They slurp or smack, I snort, its just
how I react, and there is no way to
control it. Sometimes its kind of
funny.

My sissie and me could be heard
all the way in the living room, mum
would say "You two are the n oisiest
kids on the planet" in a kind, kidding way
not mean.

You cood hear sissie slurping a ice lolly
and me snorting. It was funny now that
I look back on it.

One time I ask her to do it so
I cood make a snort noise, because we
got a new tape recorder and I wanted
to record funny noises but, I cood not
do it on command, if she did not have
a sucker or lolluy I cood not do it.
