I have the opposite problem. I am hypersensitive to my odor and everyone else's. I have an aversion to odors in general. Some even give me headaches. I am more sensitive than the average person but enjoy certain scents.

I hate the sensation of wet deodorants on my pits and cannot use aerosols because they are too strong for my lungs. I wear dry deodorant. I look for buy one get one free coupons and use whatever brand the coupon is for so long as it's dry.

If you take hot or warm showers, gradually lower the water temperature until the water is as cold as you can take it before you step out of the shower. Otherwise you will immediately start to sweat. During the summer months, you might want to take two showers per day.

i smell better in air-conditioned places than i do where it's hot and sweat-inducing. when i was in the army, i showered twice a day [texas and virginia are hell in the summer!] but still sweat profusely and stank notably. my stankiness even offended ME.

Don't the mistake of mixing up "antiperspirant" with "deodorant"- they are completely different products. Most antiperspirants contain aluminum, most deodorants don't. Due to skin allergies, I can't use antiperspirants so I use deodorant that does not contain aluminum. Speed Stick has worked for me for 25 years now...

Speed Stick works best for me, too.

i'm like that too. i am convinced i have super-strong body odour even though people say they can't smell me. i shower once a day but i put anti-perspirant on in the morning and deodorant at night. and i often do a quick wash of all applicable scented areas in the middle of the day to help cut down on smell. i am slightly paranoid i think.

on the subject of "paranoid" i don't know why this memory just bobbed to the surface of my gray matter- but when i was in the army, as a nasty prank on a fellow barracks-mate [he tinkled on my feet in the shower, so this was revenge] i convinced him that he should put scented corn starch on his private parts, "to keep cool and fresh in the heat." but anybody with any experience with corn starch knows that it ferments in those conditions and stinks to high heaven. i wonder how long it took him to figure it out...... :?:

I think it's better to use a bit less effective natural deodorant than to be worried about Alzheimers every morning you apply it. A very natural kind is home-made.
Here's one recipe http://www.instructables.com/id/Deodorant/.
I make it easier. 3 parts baking soda, 1 part starch, 10 drops of teatree oil (per 50ml container), some peppermint oil for additional scent (fir oil for men version), <- mix these and start to add walnut or whatever base oil gradually til the mix sticks together very well but does not flow yet.
EDIT: I found another cool baking soda trick http://www.mit.edu/~rei/deodorant.html.
Also you can try the salt, crystal etc natural products if you hate too chemical.

I have also noticed that some clothes get stinky much quicker than others. Ones that are tight in the armpit are worse. Maybe they make me sweat more, maybe they accumulate the chemical compounds in a strategically bad place, anyway the difference is huge.

Clothes can also smell awful for example if people smoke indoors at home.

it is surprising to me that so many people talk about having body odor.
i have no body odor because i do not exude pheromones or musky emanations. i have not much testosterone i guess. i have no hair on my legs or chest or arms and only a slight amount of mousy hair in my groin.

i find body odor disgusting and i am glad i do not have it, but on the other hand, i attract no one because i am sterile and have no animal "magnetism".

once i went to our farm in brewarrina (far western new south wales) and there was no showers, and i went for six weeks without having a shower, and i had no smell of any kind when i got back home. my mother had a keen sense of smell and she did not notice any smell from me.

it would be an extreme hassle to bathe in the morning and be smelly by the afternoon. maybe even bacteria are not attracted to me. that is a good thing. i am not complaining.

a girl said to me once that the thing that attracted her to her boyfriend was his body odor, and i was bamboozled because i could not understand how body odors can be attractive.

I am surprised so many people recommended Old Spice. Old Spice is literally overwhelmingly strong to me.

I am also surprised anyone recommended gel. I tried deodorant gel once before, and it feels terrible. I was constantly aware of it being on my skin.

I use Speed Stick Active Fresh. Compared to many other deodorants it doesn't smell as strong.

Also, shouldn't this be in the random discussion forum?

Diet plays a large part as any dog owner will tell you

hairy guys are usually smellier due to testosterone too

I use H2O2 for hygiene after every shower, my BO is considerably less than before using hydrogen peroxide

use the food grade 35%, dilute to 3-6%.......... it as cheap as chips around $5 a year

We had a freshly cleaned toilet, added some H2O2, and it further cleaned the bowl considerably..... clean is not clean till you try H2O2

A little bit of deodorant goes a long way. The more social people feel like they are being punched when they smell armpits. Try washing your armpits on a daily basis with deodorant soap. Although I am a man, I shave my armpits. It helps with the smell.
