Remnant,

YEAH, I was born in the 60s. EVERYTHING has changed! It used to be that EVERYONE tried to learn english(outside of some in certain areas), and tried to assimilate, etc.... There was an american culture regarding health code laws, personal space, courtesy, etc... All that is GONE! They DON'T try to learn english. They DON'T try to assimilate. Healthcode laws, when "followed" are done in such a perfunctory manner as to be WORTHLESS. And FORGET about personal space and courtesy.

It is a SHAME! After all, I wouldn't do that in THEIR countries. And some parts of california will not hire ANYONE unless they are FLUENT in Spanish or Chinese. Apparantly, it is ok if they don't speak English. One group even tried to get a really BAD pigeon English here declared as another language called Ebonics!

Anyway, the healthcode laws, personal space, and courtesy used to be obliging of autistics. Autistics could almost appear normal. ALSO, people at least SEEMED a bit smarter. Not that they listened to me any more when I gave good advice. I now actually get PAID for giving advice similar to that that was once turned down for free!

Also, people used to ask "how are you doing?", and actually wait for an answer! Today, the question is often considered to be just a statement like "the sky is blue".
