Hmm, you could also call my version of Shut Down "spacing out". Though in that, I may be aware of people but not able to respond or think. Total depersonalization.
And I do *DO* the general spacing out thing at times..

It's a funny feeling. If I'm with someone else they'll ask what I am staring at. And I just think, "Well, thinking or just looking somewhere". I don't think it's very strange because I do it all the time. I am amused that it can confuse other people.
