I made myself a weighted lap pad that's useful for draping over my shoulders, but I want a bigger one that will cover all of me. I always knew I liked heavy pressure exerted over a large area of my body, but I didn't realise until recently how good it was at tapering off a meltdown before it gets too bad; I just lie flat on my floor and drape the pad over my shoulders and as far down my back as it will reach, and it helps. I definitely need a bigger one though.

My weighted blanket is indispensable! A few years ago I bought mine online at www.weightedblanket.net ('Dream Catcher Weighted Blankets') & they were very prompt & courteous (note: I'm not advertising here - I imagine there are other great suppliers). In fact, if you mention you are a Wrong Planet member you'll receive a discount :) Now, if they're not still available, I bet you could order one from another source. Be sure to chose acrylic beads & not filler like beans/seed or other organic materials as over time these can actually become rancid (& even attract vermin). Also, weighted blankets, which are pricey, are tax deductible as a medical expense - keep your receipt!

nebrets, when I moved almost 2 years ago, I took very little with me. But I took my weighted blanket. Maybe more than anything, it helps calm me down.

Thank you so much for the link. I have been trying to get one forever now but had no recommendation of a place to work off of. I have hesitated for a year now because I didn't want to waste my money on a site I didn't know.

I can't thank you enough for the link and the discount heads up!
