Hmm, I think since joining WrongPlanet I've discovered a lot of stims I do that I never really noticed before. I don't flap but I do this thing where I'll start to shake my hand out if I get really worried and anxious about something. It's looks kind of like when someone shakes their hands right after washing them in order to dry them.

I've never flapped, but I've been rocking more noticeably (at least to me) since I started posting on WP.

I was at a friends house the other day and we were sitting on the front porch. I was setting on the floor and messing with some tools that we were using earlier. I randomly grabbed a ratchet and started slowly turning it making it click and starting to zone out. Apparently I was totally out, staring at nothing and clicking the ratchet for a while because my friend started laughing because his wife asked me something and I totally ignored her.

That was the first time I really stimed in front of one of my friends and they noticed.
I've found that I'm now recognizing a lot of the small things I do as stims since I joined WP.

I wonder if I'm starting to 'catch' people's stims since coming here. Yesterday I was playing 'recreational' guitar and I couldn't stop rolling my foot, then when I was out at my weekly meeting, I caught myself rocking side to side when the speaker was speaking, and a few times I've noticed I'm shaking my hands at my sides, like I had bugs on them I'm trying to fling off, when I get uneasy, and then I'm starting to walk pigeon toed again, wtf

Some times i just break out into severe hand flapping and animal noises a little on the side.
It only happens when I get really really excited and hyper, I guess it's part of the Asperger's combined with ADHD. :)

Is it wrong that I read this as "Fap where you've never fapped before"?

And, I haven't really flapped ever, I just rock or tap my leg.

I prefer to think of it as the T-Rex stride.

This reminds me of a similar instance that happened to me: Soon after I first realized that I may have AS, I went to lunch with a few coworkers. I was in that period when I was noticing every single aspie trait I have, and it was rather anxiety-inducing. So I sat at the table and stimmed almost the entire time while the rest of the group carried on a conversation. I zoned out for a few minutes while playing with the bottle of mustard that was sitting on the table. One co-worker noticed and commented about it.
