Depends on my level of self care.

I suppose NT's would be embarrassed if they were out of sorts, but this doesn't seem to come naturally for me.

Cover my ears if its a recording. I CANNOT stand to see myself on camera and refuse to take photos period, I can't even look at myself in a mirror and brush my teeth in the kitchen.

So it does seem to be more of an aspie thing. Once a NT told me not looking in the mirror was a sign of schizophrenia

I don't allow myself to be recorded or videotaped. I hate it.

I hate it too - sound, photos, video.

If I ever do Skype I'm not going to plug the camera in.

It's annoying when sometimes people upload photos of me on Facebook, and they label them with my name. They haven't done any really bad ones yet, but sooner or later they will.

I can get good photos of myself but I have to become a portrait photographer to get it right.

I don't like to be filmed, because you never know what they going to do with the video.
Just don't like been filmed.
Specially if they don't ask for permission.

It might seem like it but we can't get more absolute than seem. You went to an autism website and asked how do you deal with being on camera. Deal with it meaning that it is an issue. So mainly people are going to post that have an issue with it. I mean this topic wouldn't have been posted if the OP said I do not have an issue with having pictures taken.

While I was growing up there was a morning show for children that featured an in-studio audience, some props, and cartoon shorts. I loved watching this show before school every morning, and if I didn't get to watch it I would flip out over it.

Anyway, for my birthday one year, my mother arranges for me to be in the audience. I was fine until I saw myself on camera. Cue instant meltdown. The host had to carry me off the set. I think a contributing factor was that I had to miss the show before this one, which was also a huge part of my routine.

I've actually never really liked cameras much and hated having my picture taken. That mellowed a lot in my late teens and early - late 20s, but I am still somewhat suspicious of them.

On android there is an app to record all phone calls. I found that this is very helpful in improving how you talk, since it sounds so different unrecorded. You can listen to things later and notice so much more about it than live.

*recording phone calls without asking/telling people is illegal in most countries

I dislike it very much. I let my picture be taken at family events a few times a year, but will try not to speak if someone is using something that can record my voice. Like some of the other posters, my voice in my head sounds much different from what it sounds like on a recording. Hearing it too much will make me speak less to others because I become extremely self-conscious and I don't want that.

I also don't like mirrors and have them only in the bathrooms of my house for that reason. Odd, I always thought I was the only person on Earth that felt this way. However, it is nice to know that I am not alone and that there are other people who feel the same way.
