I work as a temp in the Fiscal department of the Division of Developmental Disabilities here in New Jersey which basically forces me to socialize along with other units like case managers.

Well, w/ SSI you'll be a professional bum.

Do I get a certificate with my name on it to?

To pay the bills I work in the Mental Health field. However, my main love is philosophy and religion. I just earned my MA in Spiritual Traditions and Ethics. I teach some, but looking for more work in the field (its rough!) Hopefully a PhD is in my future.

I have found that thinking about "deep things" is the only thing that keeps my mind sane.

Trained in law

Did legal advice type jobs (tho' never fully qualifed) until one over stressed me...

So spent some time working part time for a charity as a project assistant - a kind of PA roll although I ended up pretty much supporting their IT system too as they were quite small and needed someone to do this and I needed some extra money.

Then moved across to become a researcher in the public sector (had shown talent for this while at the charity and managed to get a trainee position with a sympathetic manager). Did this for some years (mostly with same organisation and realised I really liked research and wanted to learn more).

So currently full time PhD student and do some tutoring of undergraduate /postgraduates too ...to those of you who know anything about this I'm trying to write up at the minute...

Hoping to eventually become academic researcher / lecturer - hoping also might possibly be able to do this 4 days a week rather than 5 though to give me some down time / not over-stress.

I work in a field and in a position that is completely unrelated to my education. I have a Bachelors in biological anthropology, a MS in Agronomy and I work as an analytical Chemist.

Officially, I'm an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force; however, due to Aspergers, the military is currently paying me to file papers and surf the internet all day.

I'm a post-doctoral fellow in drug addiction research. . .I really love my research, but it is crazy how I ended up doing it. I got my BA in chemistry, did my graduate coursework in "interdisciplinary toxicology" (the classes for toxicology were WAY more interesting then the classes for pharmacology--one is how drugs/chemicals kill you and one is how drugs/chemicals save you) and ended up doing my phd dissertation research in behavioral pharmacology (i tried to improve learning and attention in a mouse with down syndrome by using different drugs--it was AWESOME--I love mice). and somehow I ended up doing addiction research in humans. . .yea!! (i still miss my mice though--they were never late and they never lied)

Unemployed for a year. Thursday I start a summer job I've worked for the past 4-5 years working with severely mentally disabled kids (autism, intellectual disability, down syndrome, etc). that is 5 weeks long. I love, love, love it but I didn't study teaching in college and it would be expensive and tedious to go back to do everything to get licensed as a teacher. Also cannot drive (bad vision) and can't do anything requiring fine motor skills (tremor) so I don't expect my unemployment to end soon.
