I am kind of pee-shy and have to go into a stall before I can pee (I just don't want other people watching me pee) and I also sit down to pee even though I am a male

My bladder is weaker in the winter, than it is, in the summer.

Oh, man. I can't believe i'm late to this topic. Where do I start? First off, I live in the mountains where it's so cold and only boosts my chances of having to go. Secondly, I have problems going in urinals because i'm scared that someone might be watching me or checking me out so I have to use the stalls when I pee. Thirdly, the stall has to be a certain size because if it's too small, I get claustrophobic and start feeling sick. Fourthly, I have to take off any jackets, coats or vests I wear for fear that I may accidentally urinate on them because my clumsy "you know what" may be aiming the wrong way. I also can't stand toilets that flush really loud and startle me. Another thing is, I refuse to go in outhouses.

In recent years, I've had some issues with frequency but have been given some exercises to do to help with his. I'm also due to see a specialist in a few months time to see if I need a small operation for slight bladder prolapse after childbirth.

I would imagine if I were a male that I'd be embarrassed having to pee in a urinal; and I was a bit embarrassed about peeing on school camps where other people could see. That side of things doesn't really bother me now.

I suppose it would be more likely for a fair few of us to have issues with lack of privacy and doing number 2's as that is even more subject to muscular control than urination. There seems to be more shame attached to BMs too because they don't smell nice.

If I were a man then I don't think I could use a urinal either.
On Black Friday I went across the border to America to do some shopping. I was hoping to find some electronics. I went to the bathroom in Target because it was unavoidable. In the washroom, almost all the women were chatting to eachother. Even if they were in the stall. The women didn't necessarily know eachother either. In Canada, it seems different from my experience. We hardly talk in the washroom and do not look at eachother nearly so much. It's more of a private affair, and I like that :P.

it's fast and convenient actually

That's just bizarre to me. I can hardly imagine how awful it would be to have someone hanging around close by talking to you while you're trying to go in private. 8O And what an awful place to have a conversation, period - the smell/sounds of disinfectant/other people using the toilet all around you.

I'm ashamed to say I use the disabled bathroom if I have to go at work - just one nice, big private room with toilet and washbasin together, and a heavy door.

I'm female.

An interesting idea for a topic...

I had more problems when I was a kid, actually. I have heard somewhere that autistics are more likely to wet themselves in public.

Today there was a group of teenage girls taking up all the wash basins, which annoyed me because they weren't even using them to wash. Just adjust their hats and yap to each other like a bunch of yappy dogs.

Anyway, I voted "more often" on the poll. But I do drink a lot of water when I can. So that my throat doesn't dry.

Doesn't that cause lines at the women's bathroom?

Jonathan what causes lines in womens bathrooms is fact that they use a stall and they use toilet paper. Plus women have more clothes to pull down and then back up. Think of a woman in dress, with slip underneath, plus hose and underwear. Whereas guys often just unzip, pee and zip back up. And women tend to wash their hands afterwards and guys often don't. (Or at least that's what I've been told)

I personally think its very intimate when women talk in restroom. I mean I take it as a compliment that women at work continue conversations with me while we're in adjacent stalls.

Bet I can top everyone's bathroom stories because we have a ghost in bathroom where I work.

I have too pee fairly often so I try not to drink much if I need to go out. I drink a lot of water. My grandma used to bug me about it being of sign of diabetes for drinking water a lot and then drs say peeing a lot is sign of diabetes. But I've been tested numerous times because there is a tendency in family, but always comes back normal. I had to remind my grandma that I am an Arizonian now and have become accustomed to drinking more water. Its a matter of survival. People in higher humidity places tend to drink less. Also many people are dehydrated on a daily basis and do not realize it. I enjoy drinking water. I can't stand when they put lemon in water when you ask for a glass at restaurant. It tastes weird that way. I guess I'm weird because I also like straight club soda aka salty water.

i'm sure that's part of it, but if i were a woman and i needed to take a dump and pee and i have my period and the women in the stalls are chit chatting well i'd be unhappy.

on hand washing i plead the fifth amendment ...

a ghost? do tell.

Jonathan,

In one of the women's bathrooms at work I noticed years ago there was a rustling of paper in there when no one else was in the room but me. I noticed this numerous times, but didn't say anything. Then about a year later I was with some of the long time female employees and they started talking about the ghost and said haven't you ever heard anything in there? I told them I had heard paper rustling and they said it was the ghost of a woman who worked there years ago and died in an accident. She didn't die at the building so I don't know why she would want to haunt work. I figure the building must be built where something else had been during the Old West days. There are stories that some of the old downtown buildings are haunted because that is where the old west shoot outs used to occur.

All I know is I have witnessed the paper rustling sound several dozen times. It is a small bathroom, only 4 stalls and you can easily see if anyone else is in the room and there is only one door. It sounds as if someone was reading a newspaper then you walked in on them and they hurried to put it away. Usually I hear the ghost when I first walk in. But a few times I have been sitting on the big white throne and would continue to hear the shifting of paper. I heard her earlier this week but I had not been using that particular bathroom in a long time.

That sounds really cool. I wish I could have such an experience. I might make me believe in God again.

Why do you need something like that to convince you of God?

Where do you live? You need to go to England or places in US that are known to be haunted.

well my problem with urinals is this. i find it comparable to pissing in a trough. also, there is the matter of splashback, which i object to. and thirdly, i find it strange that most guys don't seem in the habit of giving it a wipe after they piss. it's natural for me to want to give it a wipe, i dont understand how most guys don't seem to do it.
