never went to any social. My classmates (20 in my year) seemed undersstanding and I didn't mind hearing the stories the day after. I had to go to graduation, but all the teachers understood I did not do hugging, so they gave me a good handshake inhstead. Looking back, I guess people were pretty understanding. One of the benefits of a small school with a focuss on university prep I guess...

I did not go to:
Prom (never had a date)
Homecoming
Grad Night
Sports events of any kind
Pep Rallies (when they made them optional)
Project Graduation

Looking back, I kind of wish I had done some (but not all) of those things

I did attend the Senior Picnic, but I had to get a ride a van with the special-ed kids because I did not drive (or have any friends with cars). I also walked at graduation and even drove a few hundred miles last year to attend the 10 year reunion. It does kind of bother me to realize that I'm still single while others in my high school class are married, having kids, etc.

I did go to HS football games for 2 years. I had to since I was on the team.
I skipped the prom every year.
I did go to 1 dance for about 5 minutes. It was a home coming dance after the game and I was coerced to go in (it was free).
I wanted to skip graduation, but I was not allowed.

No. I had no interest in proms and that other junk. I don't see what's so great about it.

I never went to any of them. I had no real friends and I was bullied by a lot of people so I never wanted to go in case anyone who bullied me would be there.

I forgot about Grad Nite, I did go to that which I soon realized was a mistake. My family put on a party which I got to be in for about 10 minutes before I had to go board the bus. Perhaps I may describe the entire experience in another post. My graduation ceremony wasn't even with the class I started with and thus hardly recognized anyone else

I went to all of them. I didn't go to football games often.

Never. I had absolutely no interest in school sports and things like prom.

I didn't go to any of my proms. At the schools I went to, I was usually the most unpopular person for showing too many autistic behaviours such as struggling to to say with my voice what I wanted to say, getting overloaded by random touches and folks screaming into my ears for fun while also showing too few of the this-person's-a-nerdy-genuis stereotypes that exist about AS. In return, I had zero interest in spending my free-time with autistim-phobic bullies.

I went to the prom of my friends though. That was one pretty awesome. They were popular and well liked at school which is why they tended to be in the centre of activities which kept tagging along on that primary social event from getting boring.

Did you go to your
HS prom, NO
dances, NO
or sports? Yes, to basketball games which included working in the concessions at times. I loved basketball and loved playing it as well in school. Just one a a very few activities that I actually enjoyed

In my entire school career, I went to one dance and a few pep rallies... and all of those were because they were during school and I was FORCED. The dance was in sixth grade, during the last period of school. I had to miss social studies to go to this stupid NT dance. I was NOT happy. Similarly, in high school, there were several pep rallies (once or twice a year) that the students were required to go to, and these, too, were held during the last one or two classes of the day. I thought it was terrible that we HAD to go to these pointless, noisy displays of NT "fun." Why was I not allowed to have a study hall period and get to read or something?

As for sports, I loathe all sports. I think sports are especially pointless. Plus, I have no athletic ability, even if I wanted to play sports.

And prom? I couldn't have cared less. The only prom-related thing I participated in was frequently complaining about how wrong and prejudiced it was that my high school only sold tickets to male-female couples. So, if you weren't heterosexual, you had to pretend to go with a date of the opposite sex. You couldn't even buy a solo ticket and just go hang out with friends if you were single! I had no desire to go to prom, but I was enraged at the ticket-selling practices that promoted homophobia and encouraged teen dating as the "norm." :x

went to prom, spent the night leaning against a pillar not dancing with any of the 17 girls that asked me - including the girl i liked. hated it.

was forced to go to sports day, went to a few football matches and surprisingly i loved the atmosphere, even if the noise was a little over-bearing.
