I've reviewed this thread and I don't find anything in it that I feel constitutes "verbal pornography."

The whole point of the thread is about possible childhood sexuality.Just because some parents are uncomfortable with the concept doesnt mean that it "wrong".I was very curious about sexuality, from an early age ad would have appreciated some accurate information about the topic, instead of just the Playboy magazine info that I would covertly read when babysitting.

I dont want to scare away new members, but given the highly sexualized society we live in(TV,advertising, music),I dont think an honest conversation should be considered offensive.I hated beng talked down to as a kid and I still find it nieve and disrespectful for adults to think children dont think about sex.

So,thank you Mr.Mark,for your non-knee jerk reaction.

Absolutely! I've been masturbating ever since I can remember; I know it was a normal thing for me when I was four. I had no idea this was something you shouldn't do in public.
I'm surprised this isn't mentioned more often as a stim: It seems like a classic. Do NT toddlers masturbate?
I only stopped after I had my baby: I think my equipment is damaged.

I have to agree with krex. I don't see any reason why a younger person shouldn't be reading this thread. I know that I would have found it very comforting to learn that other kids did it too and that it was completely normal and natural.

Apparently, childhood masturbation is not uncommon.

i started early, (7 or 8 ) and went through a phase where i was pretty obsessive about it most likely to the point where it was unhealthy.
Funny, I don't do it much nowadays.

I also started masturbating at a ridiculously early age. I started at the age of 6 or 7.

I used to get confused when I heard that (most) people didn't begin masturbating until adolescence.

poopylungstuffing, I certainly can understand how obsessive behavior (or thoughts) can be psychology or psychiatrically unhealthy (and how this could in turn have implications for physical health), but Revenant's claim is that initiating masturbation too early is in itself physically unhealthy. There is no mention of this only being the case where the masturbation is obsessive, and I understand the claim is about age (of initiating masturbation) and independent of any associated obsessiveness.

My mom said I started to masturbate when I was a year and half.

dig.

Well..it is good to know that I was not THAT abnormal in regards to the age that I started.

As a kid, I tended to be vulnerable to complete obsession with anything that I liked...hence my childhood food addiction..

goog topic. maturbation is good for the body, the soul, the heart and lings, the emotions and is a cool thing to do. it is also probably pretty essential for ASD people with sensory dysfunction issues and can be the preferred way to release sexual tension.

I think Isabelle Henault would be able to say a lot about this.

I did not masturbate as a kid.
I was raised in a church, so I was taught that such things were sinful.
I don't think it's sinful anymore, but I rarely do it. Although there was a time when I did it a lot.

It is said in my adoption papers from when I was young, that I had been caught 'masterbating' a few times.. I don't remember that though, but got to be from when i was 4 or younger.
I remember alot of occasions growing up where I have played with myself, but I did not consider this at the time to be anything sexual. There was no sexual thoughts or feelings there. It was simply a case of it feeling good and was fun to do.
