She's definitely spinning clockwise, I'm left handed. I guess that means I'm definitely right brained.

Maybe the theory behind NVLD and brainedness is just bunk.

I'm a righty; however, I can make her go back and forth. Once I figure it out, I can switch her at half-spins like she is rocking. I seem to look from her feet outwards to make her change directions. I'm not sure exactly of the technique, but that's my story and I'll stick to it - for the moment, anyways.

Yeah, I can flip her either way. I like optical illusions, so I guess it's due to my having some practice with things like this. If she weren't in silhouette, the illusion would vanish, of course...

No, the theory is correct, this test is not valid.
It just tests how visual informations are getting processed in your brain.
In many cases this is identical with the side of your brain, you are thinking more, but it doesn't have to necesseraly.
So this test just can give you an idea with wich side of your brain you might think more with, but to be sure you would have to be tested longer.

The correct term is "myth", not "theory". There is nothing correct at all about that non-scientific hogwash.

I going to continue to disagree with you. What I'm saying is maybe some can be diagnosed with both NVLD and not have a right brain deficit.

The one thing doesn't have anything to do with the other, the test is still not valid. ;)

Of course that might be possible with NVLD, but propably would be very rare.
If it's possible at all...!

Clockwise too. I consider myself "left-brained", though..
I can see it moving anti-clockwise after using some help..

I know that I'm left brained. So I was surprised when I saw it as going clockwise the first 2 times! I answered lefty.

*shrug* I honestly don't know how the left/right brain concept works.

I didn't vote. The figure goes both ways for me. I actually did much more extensive tests before and my left-right brain is about 50/50. Duality is my specialty. I also use both hands and always look at things from more than one view point. :) Check your fingerprints: if you have a lot of double loops (composite whorl) that shows a nature in duality.

Being nothing more than a myth, it doesn't work any better than any other myth. All it really measures is gullibility.

Right brained. I needed the trick at the end to see it counterclockwise. Even then it kind of rotated back and forth (sort of). It was very weird.

It started off clockwise, but I had a hard time keeping it that way. It kept flipping back and forth. Maybe it's because I'm just tired.

Clockwise = right brained = logic, math, language, etc. right?

Not quite. Right brained is supposed to be art and spatial stuff. But this dancer thing is messed up, because there's no scientific evidence that it actually tells you whether you are right brained or left brained. It tells you how your visual system is processing the image.

I saw clockwise.

anti-clockwise and then clockwise and then back

A way to flip it is to get it anti-clockwise, do some mental arithmetic. To get it to go clockwise, imagine a garden or mountain, or something visual like that. It works for me.
