Oh, funny! :D That's neat you can remember me!

I'm still working on resizing a picture for my avatar. I want to upload one of my paintings and I figured out how to re-size in paint and I am learning skills I should have picked up some time ago. It tells me it is under 16 kb, but now maybe I have a pixel problem. I'll figure it out eventually.

^^^ I remember Logicalmom because of the word "logical", you instantly have my attention, haha.

I use Paint to create my crazily-low-file-size pics. I save them as jpg. Not sure why yours wouldn't be working.

Avatars make a forum a lot more interesting and fun, but I don't necessarily have to see them to remember people.

I recognize people by their writing styles, not their avatars. I also have my own mental "associations" with certain posters that have nothing to do with their avatars, and I remember those better than I remember the avatars.

For example, OddDuckNash is a cartoon duck with an Einstein hair-do. Verandi is a Valkyrie. Rascal77 looks like a 1920s gangster. You get the point.

Besides, there is a small group of posters I'm rather fond of that I always recognize by how they write. Just about everyone else tends to blend together, and I might as well be chatting with an AI program.

Not saying that to be mean, just describing the world as I experience it.

I somewhat emotionally stereotype people based on their avatars, which just makes them annoying to me when posting, because I ignore all my emotions in any decision (it has some relevancy in other ways though).

Ha - better late than never!! ! The only reason it wasn't working is because I am inept. It needed just a slight tweaking in size. I really wanted this one painting - I did cut some of it off to fit. It is the Music of Color. It's not a big painting in real life - I'd like to do another but my paintings are often quite spontaneous and I am not good at duplicating ideas. But now I have something to go with "logical" to help people to place me :D

too bad you don't post an avatar pic of yourself in your radio studio.

Wearing headphones, and talking into a mic.

Not a bad idea.

I found mine on some random free avatar site....I love horses and have one, so it made sense.

I'm face-blind in real life. I usually remember words better than pictures. On WP, I recognize members by their usernames, not by their avatars.

Thank you :D

I love horses - you're so lucky :D I used to have a large collection of ... collectibles ... how else do I say it? lol Collectible horses with a stable - I bought horse magazines, learned the breeds, learned about horse health care, perused tack shops and learned about gear - I made a lot of effort for someone who didn't have a horse  Your avatar is wonderful - I relive my horse passion :D - it doesn't really go away.

Half of the fun of being on WP for me is seeing all the avatars. It makes WP a lively and muiltcoloured place to be. :)

Hi Cockney Rebel :D

Hi Esther: I had Breyer's: http://www.breyerhorses.com/breyer_history

I wish I still had them - I gave them to my cousin - she collected them too and she had a horse. I think it also eased some tension because I wanted a horse so badly and I figured out it wasn't going to happen - I lived through her. One of my faves was a stallion in a pose like your avatar.

The first thing I notice are the avatars, but I always read the usernames. It is automatic for me. I do not think I am a visual thinker, by the way.

Avatars are nice but not essential. Some users may not have the time, desire or knowledge to make an avatar, or they simply cannot find one that best represents the user.

Whose the figure in your avatar meant to be CyborgUprising? A member of the IRA?
