Why is it bad to ask a pregnant teenager if she is getting an abortion when she tells you she is pregnant? "So are you getting an abortion?"

I think because people get really heated about abortion as they believe it to be a moral issue. People also often see a foetus as a baby already and have strong feelings regarding that. Perhaps they interpret it as you implying that they "should" be getting an abortion. Seems like a reasonable question to me, though, especially in that situation.
