Mainly anything that happens suddenly, usually any sudden loud noises that startle me. Constant sensations can be annoying as well but at least they don't take me by surprise and I can usually tune it out after a while.

Anything sticky or dusty, and noise while I'm trying to concentrate is very distracting.

Those too and chewing noises and loud breathing noises.

Ditto - though, not always so much the kids - it is often adults speaking loudly, or in a certain way that gets to me - I feel like they are beating me up, in a sense.

Do you guys ever NOT get annoyed with certain things on your list, i.e. do you almost always get annoyed by people screaming, but sometimes you barely notice it or don't even hear a fire alarm going off? I remember Temple Grandin once saying something like how sometimes a sound is overwhelming and other times she can barely hear it, like the volume dial on her ears changes constantly... I've never noticed that in myself, but maybe others have?

Hearing traffic noise at night when I'm trying to sleep.. even with earplugs in. It was so bad for a few weeks a couple months ago I had to get some prescription sleeping pills in order to get any rest at all, as otherwise I'd just lay awake/in a very light sleep alllll night listening to traffic go buy until my alarm went off. It's not as bad right now, and I've even slept through some nights without earplugs, but still - it's definitely annoying.

No... Usually when that happens to me, it means that I've acquired an 'immunity' to the sensory trigger that used to set me off before.
I haven't experienced that it sometimes didn't bother me and sometimes it did.

Hydraulic brakes screeching
People laughing loudly
People talking in a quiet space; library, bus, etc
Loud music

Cigarette smoke smell: my chem partner always reeks of cigarettes and it makes me want to gag.
And the absolute worst that can throw me into a rage: people making those obnoxious noises to test when microphones are working. It gets under my skin until I want to rip my ears out and throw them at whoever is making that horrible noise.

Screeching or high pitch squealing brakes, like on the subways or city buses.
