Benefit of a late diagnosis.

I'm 23, still working on getting an actual diagnoses...so yeah I wasn't diagnosed early in life. But I do not think my life is better because of that, instead of getting any understanding that I had real difficulties it was that I was never trying hard enough....and I got constantly picked on by other kids and even some teachers because I was 'weird' and all that did was damage my mental health. I've had co-morbid depression and anxiety ever since I can remember as well.
I think maybe it can depend on the person and other factors whether an early diagnoses would help or not...also which treatments the diagnoses results in.
