I've overestimated how much one of my colleagues liked me when I was in college and I've ended up getting very hurt. I'll never forget that. I've held a grudge against that guy for years. I've also made the same mistake on the Internet, 7 years ago. Same story, different person.

Yes, I pretty much just assume everyone hates me unless they prove otherwise now.
