My mother did her very best, but she was given bad advice by doctors and therapists, so the result is that I had a rougher time growing up with undiagnosed autism, than I may have if I had been understood. I voted "she tried her best" in the poll, because I don't think the issue was so much that she "didn't understand me". I think she understood me, but didn't get the right advice on how to integrate me into the NT world.

*My father wasn't present, and my mother died when I was 21, so I believe that she eventually would have figured things out with me at some point, and then been able to point me in a better direction.
