I drink it when I can't stay awake at work. 1 cup of tea is enough, otherwise I can't sleep.

If I have too much, eg. can of coke, then I get the shakes, and dehydration as caffeine is a diuretic.

Chemicals and drugs have always tended to work opposite on me, from how they do on others. Caffeine, Adderall, and other stimulants, tend to put me to sleep and have a calming action. On the other hand alcohol, and sedatives (i.e. Medazolam, etc which they give you before surgery), tend to make me hyper and nervous, and even have caused me to go into a rapid heartrate and nervous meltdown. It was BAD.

I like coffee in the morning, but if I drink it too fast, I'll feel like going back to bed, so I keep it to one cup.

My experience is similar. Or in my case I may just be immune to medication. When I take five sleeping pills (instead of just one), I feel very awake. Coffee relaxes me and makes me want to sleep. I believe I'm naturally immune to caffeine and must have been psychologically conditioned to relax when I have coffee as I associate coffee with a nice relaxing time.

I don't feel more awake or hyped up when I drink coffee. I feel the same as before.. It's weird and a bit saddening.

I can handle up to 2-3 cups in a day, any more than that and I start to feel sick.

I find that caffeine does wonders and it's comforting, I drink about 2 or three mugs everyday, but it does raise my anxiety and I become jittery. Coffee becomes an obsession for me on and off. I have to have it everyday or else I'll just be in a bad mood and get headaches.

It helps me focus and makes me pee, other than that not much affect. It can help me stay awake but doesn't keep me awake, I can drink it before bed and sleep OK.

Am I right in thinking you are talking about coffee?

yup, you were right in your thinking. Too much coffee makes me sick (and sometimes vomit) :)

I have experienced the same thing with coffee... I can, however, guzzle diet mountain dew for days

It does, I become jittery after a cup of coffee, although it's usually manageable. However, caffeine affects me the most when combined with sugar, it really overstimulates me.
