Asthma would have killed me many times over if I did not have beta-2 agonist inhalers. In a pinch, coffee is a good natural substitute, almost as effective as albuterol, but much slower acting. Unfortunately for people with asthma, this means you can die while waiting for the slower onset effect of coffee, so an inhaler is really necessary. For less critical situations, a couple of cups of coffee and an hour to wait will probably give you nice, open airways, but to reject drugs on principle is to mindlessly embrace death.

I have also found 0.5mg of Lorazepam is very effective against acute anxiety. I don't see any moral virtue or benefit from panic attacks, so I am happy to take that pill when needed. I don't want to take it often or regularly and I did not like the effect of SSRIs... I don't see a benefit to a constant diet of those things, but I recognize that is my chemistry and others are quite different.

I think it's probably best not to be dogmatic about these issues. A pragmatic approach is probably better.

On balance it's a good thing if the legalize marijuana, but people have to know their limitations and they sometimes will not. People propagandizing for it don't bother me because I have been successful in ignoring them and thinking about other things.

There's a lot of hypocrisy and bad logic that goes on in marijuana debates. Bottom line - let's keep this simple - potheads want their pot!! !! Duh. And they are obviously going to try and construct arguments for it and obviously go on the attack if they are a jerk.

I'll be clear. I do like pot and I would love to see it legalized everywhere. But I'm not going to lie and say it is completely harmless.. Most people are better off without it, although it does help some people

some people just have addicted personalities and IMO if it wasn't weed it would be something else like alcohol or gambling.

In moderation imo it's pretty harmless but what you're smoking it with is not.

stopping smoking weed is terribly easy, stopping smoking tobacco takes weeks before your urges start to disappear.

I must have smoked weed for around 20 years (in total not 20 years in a row) and I wouldn't say it''s made my mental health any worse at all.

I don't get paranoid or have panic attacks from smoking, I can happily walk around the block at 3am whilst having a spliff with no worries at all just peacefully going for a nice walk feeling very relaxed.

If I was in a relationship then I would likely stop smoking entirely like last time but whilst I'm forever alone it helps with the lonely depressive days and stops me worrying about my life.

Why should only terminally ill patients be allowed safe natural pain relief via marijuana, if I may ask please? Is it fair to people who choose to treat themselves with this plant when they feel discriminated against because of their choice? No one wants discriminating assumptions made about themselves, right?

Sorry if this does not correspond with the current cultural trend at the moment but I am getting slightly tiresome of the whole pro-marijuana culture that is building up at the moment in which it seems like anyone who is against marijuana or has some sort of problem with the plant is a complete idiot who ought to be shot into space or live on an island on their own(although I would not mind that). Of course, marijuana has many benefits and has been known to kill cancer cells(though whether or not they kill enough to actually have any real consequence I would say is still debatable) and also helps people with anxiety, Alzheimer and Arthritis. I recognize that it is of benefit to people as a form of medication as well as a recreational tool but what I do not like is the fact that it is made out to be some utopian wonder-drug that has no disadvantages to it whatsoever and anyone who dares to question it as a drug, is a complete moron. Yes, alcohol can be a very anti-social drug but it can also be extremely positive and absolutely fine when used in moderation. Sorry to go on such a rant, just feel like I need to get it out of my system. Does anybody feel like this or am I completely on my own on this issue? Perhaps this also has something to do with the fact that I do not like reggae music and hate Bob Marley's music...

Then don't use it and shut up. Lack of marijuana causes all sort of social problems. And the extreme injustice of locking up people who smoke it is a national shame.

From what I've heard "In A Gadda Da Vida" was a drunken mispronunciation of "In the Garden of Eden". ;) When Iron Butterfly's vocalist recorded that song, he was pretty well smashed, and I guess they decided to name the song after his pronunciation instead of going with "In the Garden of Eden".

transistor radios of the day were notoriously bad in their intelligibility, and so the fans were the ones who were requesting "inagaddadavida" because they could not discern the syllables via the crude reproduction of the day.

My friend's stepdad has the original vinyl of it though, and I'm fairly certain the final title was in fact "In A Gadda Da Vida".

Anyhow, why am I having such a hard time finding a decent sounding version of it on YouTube? I remember the vinyl version sounded awesome, and I can't imagine it would be that hard for someone to hook up a turntable and rip it to a WAV file.

I have a well-remastered version of it, I am willing to share it with you if you wish. PM me if you wish for it.

Um.
There is a pill, it's called marinol.
There are also plenty of people making both tinctures, which can be used as a few drops under the tongue, and soft drinks with thc in them.

Both the tinctures & soft drinks are readily available at many of the medical marijuana dispenseries in California.
The pill is only aailable by perscription from a doctor and is heavily regulated.

Hope that clears up your misconceptions about the formats marijuana/thc is currently available in.

I mean a pill I can buy off the local head shop without the rigamarole of a script. pot products [outside of the medical arena] are STILL not for legal OTC sale in Washington state.

I'm in Colorado where it's been officially legalized... and on a college campus... yeah. My philosophy class recently had a discussion on the merits and detriments of the legalization, and pretty much everyone in class was a strong proponent for it, they loved having access to it, but the way they described the reasons they were glad of it -- e.g partying and getting high -- made me kind of wonder how they wound up in the higher education system. I have to admit, save for instances in which they're being used as pain relievers, I find the notion of taking any sort of drugs, even alcohol, to be kind of silly and short-sighted, because not many people my age know how to use such things "responsibly." I don't know how many stories I've heard from one of my friends who loves to party that involve her getting blackout drunk and being seriously hung over the next day.

I kind of feel like that is a problem in society though...I mean what exactly is wrong with getting high? I think this question really needs to be asked...I mean is it really so different from having a few drinks and getting tipsy? Also I actually sort of like how in some countries the drinking age is lower so younger people may learn to drink more responsibly by being exposed to it earlier but around adults with more experience since its not a tabboo. So I feel somewhat similarly about cannabis use, glad its legal but not sure I agree with the legal age to consume it but same thing with alcohol. I mean maybe I am a weird aspie for this but I kind of like partying sometimes, if its with the right people.

Really? I can't say I have ever coerced, lied or manipulated information to make anyone accept my belief....I prefer to use facts and studies I look up, if people don't agree wonderful, if they do cool. But don't try and paint all pro-marijuana legalization people as manipulative lairs even if there are some like that. Trust me quite a few pro-marijuana people take issue with people who use that sort of approach since it gives the rest of us a bad name.

It does actually exist in those forms also as edibles, but not sure your state had dispensaries, let alone ones open for recreational use as well.

Washington, compared to Colorado, took the scenic route to legalization. the first OTC dispensaries are to arrive in july.
