Well many of us have problems with motor skills, so it makes sense.
Like I said, no matter how hard I try, it happens. Half my jaw is numb though, I always thought that may have been part of it, but maybe it is just motor skills.

There are very few meals I have ever eaten where food or drink hasn't made it's way on to me... I am world renowned for my clumsiness with people who know me.

I voted for "sometimes..." My dad does it a lot, and it really upsets him. I don't really know how to stop it. It seems to just...happen.

I spill quite often, but I spill more if my clothes are very clean (like fresh out of the machine) and/or very bright. I especially spill when I eat soup. I can't seem to hold the spoon in the right angle, and I fill it too much. I sort of rush it when putting it in my mouth, allowing less time for it so drip, because it will always drip. It's just a matter of where; on my shirt, or in my mouth.

I think in my case it has to do with the fact that I can't really see the food that well as it gets close to my moth, and I use my eyes for balance/coordination.

I always spill food down myself. It wouldn't be a mealtime if I wasn't wearing what I was eating.

I am a total klutz always spilling stuff on myself, or knocking things over. Mum always says I am like a bull in a china shop. Interestingly enough I don't fall down the stairs, only UP!

When I was in my teens and early adult years my parents and my brother (especially my brother, who loved to tell how I was always doing it wrong), would nag me about being hunched over my plate of food while eating it. But maybe that just made it easier not to spill. I have a hard time eating rice without getting grains of it everywhere. Do people in Asia really eat rice with chopsticks without making a mess, because I can't even do it with a fork! I don't usually make a major mess -knocking over glasses full of liquid, dropping large pieces of food on myself- and compared to those infomercials I've on YouTube, where the "actors" look like they can't even operate a soap dispenser or pick up a bottle of dishwashing liquid, I'm pretty well-coordinated. They even had an ad for an "adult bib" where at the beginning a guy empties his entire coffee or latte on himself when he tries to take a sip and he even spit out the mouthful he took!

Always have done to some extent. It's either drips, crumbs or dropping the food or fork altogether. Could be down a shirt or trousers including tipping drinks even though it may not be over full.

Looks like your avatar's beard might do all right! :p

Always spilling, tomato ketchup is the worse. Often thought a yashmak would be useful. Female beard substitute. :)

I have a large collection of shirts with food stains on them. My wife bought me a mib (man-bib). Seriously, I wear the thing when eating pasta at home - I'm tired of wrecked favourite shirts.
