You'll find people are more accepting of a disability than a drug user, and a disability is a good enough explanation as any if your behaviour you don't like is due to such. Besides, being quirky isn't bad. Quirky is just quirky. I'm sure many people find it endearing.

(Not to mention that the typical street drugs won't make you quirky.)

I don't think the crowd I'll be hanging out with will be more accepting of disabilities. I think they'll be way more accepting of drug use. Drug use is considered "cool" in some crowds. Could you say the same thing about disabilities? The only reason people "accept" disabilities is because disabled people are seen as children. People are "nicer" to children.

I'm not really planning to lie about using drugs. I'll just let people believe I use drugs.

If that is not a lie then surely it must be embellishing the truth ;). If you are planning on hanging out with drug users, and you tell them you are on some, there will come a time where they are going to want to do some with you. You might as well count on the fact right now that you are going to get high. Truthfully, I don't understand what all the hype is all about. I can take a hair follicle test, and I'm more thankful for that than the 20 years of smoking weed. It is such a soft drug, I don't understand how someone can think it makes problems for you, unless you are on it. There are hard drugs that can really screw your head up, and make you look like a poster girl for D.A.R.E. if you want to use meth as an excuse for being you, you will have to get some black holes, loose some teeth, get some crack face pock marks, and loose enough weight to disappear when turning sideways.

What's the difference?

There is a difference between using drugs and being a drug addict...though yes I imagine being quirky is better in the sense that from what I understand addiction really sucks and causes a lot of issues for that individual being quirky might get you some weird looks sometimes but its not something that can kill or totally destroy someone.
