I can distinguish patterns apparently a lot faster than the average person. I discovered it in high school when one of my teachers brought in some cards that she had with different patterns on them, and the point was to figure out which ones matched, out of 4 or 5 patterns that were very similar to each other. She was amazed at how quickly I got the right answers. (I overheard her in the hall later that day, telling another teacher about what happened in class with the pattern cards).
Now, if only I could make a living doing that. I'd be rich.
I've also always been really good at spelling. I only have to see a word once or twice to remember how to spell it. In school, I would almost always get 100% on spelling tests. Once, in grade 8, I told my teacher that I found the spelling tests too easy, so she said I could take the test separate from everyone else, and she'd give me harder words. (This was the same teacher that picked on me that whole year for no apparent reason). So, I took her up on her offer. She gave me words that went from a 7th or 8th grade level to university level, with highly technical and obscure words. I didn't do very well on the test, because most of the words were ones that I had never heard of before. She suggested that I go back to taking the test with everyone else, and I agreed, saying "I guess I'll just have to settle for 100% on every test".
