Anyone else use archaic language?

Yep...When people use the word "basic" these days, it implies a negative sense of simplicity or a lack of advancement.

I'm 43 and I've never heard younger people use the term in this way - or at least I wasn't aware there was a change in meaning. Language seems to be evolving a a rate with which I can't keep pace. :?

I speak Cantonese Chinese to my family, but it might as well be archaic because everyone speaks Mandarin these days.

It definitely looks like a language spoken only by aspies would evolve very slowly :)

I should have noted that "basic" is also used in the "older" sense.
