oh yes 100%

if i had a choice between hanging out with an animal or a person i would choose the animal every time provided the person choice is not my boyfriend but even then sometimes i dont want to be around Anyone At All

they are not so complicated like people

i love animals and they seem to trust me i guess because i am patient with them because i dont want to hurt or upset them so im really careful and i read all about animal behaviour

Ye definitely. I think it's because animals are much easier to understand and express their emotions much more clearly. You don't have to worry about hidden intentions/meanings with them and they don't struggle with knowing what they are. If only people were that simple :( .

I don't know about animals, but I tend to have more empathy for inanimate objects than people. I don't know if this is normal or not. For example, if I eat a bowl of potato chips and there is one potato chip left, I feel bad for that potato chip because it is alone, even though potato chips obviously don't have feelings. And when I was really young I would hoard pieces of dust. Does anyone else relate?
Yeah  . For example, when I was younger I felt bad that if I would sleep with one stuffed animal over another, they would get lonely. So I would try to alternate each night or stuff all of them around me at once even though that made it uncomfortable to sleep  .

Also I remember once coming to the conclusion that it would be unfair if one of my feet got more steps then another. So I spent all day in the park making sure that they got equal amount of steps, but I misstepped once, then started crying and refused to leave the park even though it was already dark  .

I don't think it's weird . I think it's because we don't see NTs (or anyone) exhibit feelings in the same way we do, so it's easier to project onto and understand an inanimate object sometimes :( .

I relate to neither.

I definitely am an animal lover, especially cats. My best friends are people who have had pets.

BTW I agree with the possible explanations given by isloth. I thought this too.

What people really want is more honest and innocent interactions with others, animals represent this desire, which is extremely hard to fulfill in a dishonest world.

Not to say there's anything wrong with loving animals, but that its people who you are really after. The things people love about animals are also the things they love about children.

Sorry but I disagree with pretty much everything you said. I don't know if your "analysis" applies to some women (and what about all the men who also love animals?), but it certainly doesn't apply to me. I have always felt closer to animals than humans in general, especially dogs and cats, and they have always been my "babies", even when I was still a very young child. On the other hand I never liked babysitting, its just not my thing. I don't hate kids but I am not drawn to them either. I also cannot stand people who treat animals badly.

And sorry but it is your own point of view that "its people who you are really after". I have met very few people in my life with whom I "connected", and its fine that way, quality over quantity, I have never been, and will never be "after people", I don't feel the need to "feel a connection" with everyone I meet. I have been married twice (still with my 2nd husband), but eventho I am married and have a son, I always need to have at least one dog and one cat in my life, or else I cannot be happy, they are an important part of my life. They are not a "replacement" for children, they are different, and are my "babies" in a different way.

I agree completely with Shadi2. They are definitely not replacements for people. I don't generally like people, and kids even less, but I love animals. I care for and relate to animals a lot more than I do people (other than some family members).

I haven't had a pet in 8 years and it feels empty, but I can't go through another loss.

Increasingly, I am intolerant of people who dislike animals and especially of the people who hurt and torment them - the animal sadists. The latter kind I regard as a lower form of life and I would not care if they all dropped dead today. In fact I would celebrate it. I am incapable of wishing them well in any way and the world would be better off without them.
That's how I have always felt.

Not sure I can actually relate to animals more than people. But me and my cat have something in common: we both get upset by loud noises. I'm just lucky that I can put my fingers in my ears, where as my poor cat can't. For example, we both dislike the sound of the smoke detector going off if someone opens the oven. If it goes off, my cat scarpers and hides behind the nearest couch (even if she's not directly under the sound). If it goes off when I'm under it, I might scream. If it goes off when I'm in a different room, I will just yell at it. And if I think it's going to go off when I'm walking under it, I'll just put my fingers in my ears to be safe. But recently we have just got a new smoke detector installed, and this new one is designed to only go off if there is toxic smoke, not just a tiny bit of smoke from the oven. After it was fixed up, I heard my mum say, "at least Jo and the cat can relax now."

Why didn't you just skip on the other side?

Re: animals. I relate much easier, but in less depth than with people. Dogs usually love me.

Animals have a simpler range of emotions and live in the moment, they react to our emotions in a basic honest way too.
Simpler creatures than humans, great for low maintenance companionship... yes I can relate to them, but also to people.

Animals are far less judgemental and more likely to comfort you when you're down. Nor do they have silly beliefs that they want to shove down your throat. Far more relatable for sure.
