I first got home internet set up in 2009 (I never had internet at home before then).
Then one day I decided to search Autism.
After a few searches, it came across Wrong Planet, what I had never heard of.
I saw a good thread come up on Google from Wrong Planet, and I really wanted to write something in it.
But when I did, it said I had to register, so I really quickly signed up, just so that I could write this one post. I was not intending to become a member.
Joe90 was the first thing that come into my head because it was the nickname of this guy I knew who made me laugh, so I decided to use that.
Because I wasn't intending on becoming an actual member permanently, I didn't think that I would get teased on here for having ''a guy's nickname'', and also being mistaken for a very gay guy when I talk about men. :oops:
I had no idea how to use Wrong Planet, and I didn't know the ''Wrong Planet Autism Forum Index'' page existed. I just saved my profile page on to favourites and used the Google Search bar here to get threads up.
That's why I got confused when people wrote ''stop necroposting!!'' or ''BTW the OP of this thread has left 3 years ago and this thread is 4 years old''. It was because I was still learning how to use the site!! Give the slow-witted a chance. :)

And I just somehow got myself into a habit of posting and now I know that I will stay a member here for years to come!

I don't remember exactly how I got here. All I remember is.... One day I was reading news articles on Yahoo!, as I did every day, and as I always read Psychology articles, I read one about Asperger's, and posted a comment. I got to conversing with some guy on there, too. Then, I can't remember if something he said made me google something, or if I just started googling "Asperger's", but I ended-up here by clicking on a link, on another site. I registered the same day.

I was looking up something else on Wikipedia and got distracted by the article on Asperger's Syndrome, which mentioned WP.

My counselor referred me to a website related to autism, thinking it would be a good way for me to make some friends. I was browsing through said website when I saw some links for other websites. One of them was Wrong Planet. I saw the WP website a few months earlier, but didn't think much of joining at the time. However, I clicked on the link this time, registered, and became a WP member, and two days later, met my future fiancé here.

My childhood psychologist recommended it to me.

{BTW, I still find it hard to believe that I've lasted almost 8 years here on WP, as my anniversary of being a WP member is coming up soon.}

The Site's name says it all. I've always felt I was born on the wrong planet - all my life. Being diagnosed also helped but as soon as I saw the name of the Site, I got it!! ! And it was so fitting, I just knew this Site was for me!! !
