I was scared of turning into a cat. I used to eat dry catfood from my old cat Tigger's bowl, and my dad told me that I had grown a tail so I stopped in fear.

Balloons, eggs and horses.

A balloon exploded in my face
I was force fed egg in hospital
And a horse kicked me

One more:

ESCALATORS

I absolutely couldn't stand them as a child (no pun intended). Firstly, getting on. You have to time it right or else half your foot will be hanging off the step and down towards the step below. Even though I could walk up/down the escalator to reach my destination faster, I don't dare. The mere thought of moving up or down a set of moving stairs irks me. I prefer to stand right where I am and keep a grasp onto the rail. And then getting off. As a child, I was afraid of stepping off too late because i thought I would get sucked underneath the platform. And I was afraid of stepping off too soon or else I would lose balance and fall.

Now they don't bother me much. But if every escalator had a set of regular stairs next to it, I would choose the stairs.

Loud noises, Shadow People, dogs, being dirty, people, aliens... and looking up. I don't know why, exactly... I think I always had this image in my head that some flaming piece of a meterotie would come souring through the sky and I would be frozen in horror as it crashed into me... I still get chills when I look straight up.

In fact, I think thats how it started, with a Jack in the Box at a very early age.

Childhood fears:
http://www.victorysiren.com/x/main.htm
I grew up about a block from where one of these was, even after they quit turning it on, I was still scared of it.
Fire alarms, I hated fire drills in elementary school-grew out of it by high school.
Strangers- the "Stranger Danger" thing worked a little TOO well for me.
Horses- I fell off one as a child. I could pet them, but not ride.

I loved escalators. Couldn't handle Elevators though. But I'd ride escalators all the time that I was in the mall. I'm not sure why, maybe something to do with my thought that every step that I made turned the world, rather than moving me.

As a child I suffered from nyctophobia (I remember me at the age of 6 trying to get rid of this drawing the curtains in my room and closing the door of the room because I hoped that this way I'd get used to the darkness but this shock therapy didn't help at all). I was also afraid of cars, especially Syrenas :D (I don't know why) :D

Burglars. I was so scared of them that for a while I just wouldn't go to sleep in case one came.

Darkness, heights, the mouth at the other end of my bed, the monster in my bathtub... it sucks when your mind invents things you know they don't exist but you fear nonetheless :?

Anyway, about heights I discovered it may have something to do with not fixating your point of view. If your eyes waver too much, it may seem that you are losing your balance and falling.

I was terrified of Howdy Doody but moreso of Clarabell the Clown. So petrified I couldn't look away so my mother thought I loved the show and got me a Howdy puppet and made me learn how to use it. My sister and I are both absolutely horrified at clowns to this day.
