My father travels between Southern India and the UAE (but I live in Italy).

Roller coasters are a special intense interest of mine. Pictured is my favorite roller coaster, the Swamp Fox of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I was instrumental in getting this wooden roller coaster ranked number 8 years ago.

And you really do have crooked fingers :) I remember this coming up a long time ago and you actually posted a picture of your crooked fingers!

Yes, India, Sri Lanka, all those countries. They're native but here in Australia, they're introduced. Twice, the stupid human idiots! As if they didn't learn their lesson back in 1862.

Back in 1862, they released a whole heap of them into the Melbourne City Gardens hoping they'd eat all the insects but instead, they all pissed off to NSW.

As if that wasn't lesson enough, the silly fools tried it again in Queensland several years later and they did the exact same thing. Pissed off to NSW.

Lucky for me!

You don't have them in Italy!

No, they're stubborn minded, just like me. They're also the 'black sheep' of anything. They're hated by all. I think in hindsight, that's why I can relate to them so well. That wasn't the original reason but now, I can see Mynas and I have things in common. We're the black sheep of society!

I don't need to post a photo of this one: learning about other people's special interests. I've noticed that most people do NOT like to listen to someone else rant about their special interests... but I LOVE it. I have a friend who tends to beehives for a living, and I could listen to him talk about them for hours even though they aren't a special interest for me. I just love learning new things, but a lot of people seem to think that's weird.
Image
When I was maybe 7 or 8, I found a book about greyhounds in a Women's Shelter we were staying in, and still any time I see someone walking a greyhound I get overly excited (can't have one, though, because my husband thinks they're ugly). Generally, my special interest is dog breeds, though. I never had a dog growing up, but I can usually tell what breed or mix of breeds a dog is.
Image
I've always had a very high aptitude for grammar because I find it insanely interesting. If someone tells me about a grammar rule I was unaware of, I will spend hours scouring the Internet to find out why and when that rule happened. NTs seem to find my passion annoying, even though I don't correct people unless they ask. I just really like telling people about my discoveries, but most people automatically assume that I'm telling them they have to do whatever it is "my way" (even though I don't always do it one way or another). Which leads to my next and greatest special interest...
Image
Linguistics. I want to be a linguist. The Asperger's actually gives me a bit of a head start if you think about it -- linguists need to be able to break down language to its minimal parts, and if you innately understand meanings like NTs do that means you would have to do extra work to teach yourself how to separate the meaning from the form compared to an Aspie like me who innately perceives those things separately.

I've loved peas and Sweet Peas my whole life. That special interest started when I was 5. I've loved everything round and pea green ever since. If they're characters, I love them even more. :) :P

Drawing transit maps with Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape. Usually alternatives to official maps, but also a couple of theoretical ones.

I might be so into Pokemon that it qualifies as a special interest.
